Who is your favourite male ally to Link?

Mine has gotta be Captain linebeck, reasons being he's funny, different, and has significant character development.

Runners up would be the king of red lions, and Ezlo. But Linebeck has to win this for me.

Ezlo, he's there with you every step of the way and doesn't shy away from helping link anyway he can. Plus y'know he's actually useful and an integral part of the game and not there just for plot points.
