Dark Souls II for Wii U

Nintendo has been criticized for lacking 3rd party support; however, there was a recent article on ign entitled "Petition Started Asking for Dark Souls II on Wii U". It is pretty much as you might of guess a petition to get Dark souls II on the Wii U. If this goes through it may convince other developers to develop for the Wii U now that there is a demand for their games. In addition, a similar petition was done for PC and worked. The first dark souls was an amazing game and plays similar to legend of Zelda and thus dark souls 2 would largely benefit from the Wii U gamepad
Here are links to both the Petition and the article

Nintendo consoles are always more difficult to code for than other consoles. They also get less game sales because they're viewed by developers as less user-friendly and therefore more likely to have significantly less sales. (Don't bite my head off for that one, that's THEIR opinion, I'm just passing it along.) Therefore porting to a Nintendo system represents a significant investment. Many developers get more support by DLC. Even though Nintendo is starting to pick up DLC, they're still slow on it. Current Wii U ports don't have all the DLC yet that their counterparts have.

Therefore for a developer/publisher to port to a Nintendo system, they need to be certain they'll make a profit. And they're skeptical of that now. Especially with the original Wii being a costly investment for third parties. Many third party games on the Wii were financial failures and they're going to be slow to trust Nintendo. By the time they'll start to trust them, the next gen Xbox and Playstation will be out and Nintendo will be right back in the same situation where it's more profitable to stick to those two consoles.

That's Kinda of the whole point to get developers to trust the Wii U a prove its worth the price of porting it because of the dame for third party games on WiiU developers have to take the step to next gen eventually the next gen Xbox and PlayStation aren't going to run on the same dated engines as their predessors, developers might as well get used to the technology now
