Creative Conversations V: What If Link Used Something Other Than the Sword?

:wave: Alright people, if you've read any of the other threads in this series you know the drill. Here's a 'what if' question.

What if Link used something other than a sword as his primary weapon? Just for one of the games I mean.

And now the things to answer...

What would it be, if it wasn't a sword?
How could the gameplay/story revolve around the weapon?
Anything else I've neglected to mention?

This is strictly a 'what if' question and is in no way ever going to happen (probably). I'm NOT saying that it's a good idea. Notice how I've neglected to mention that I AM NOT not saying it's a good idea...Uh...Nevermind. >.<

(Appropriate since In Japan, the one does Link's vocal effects is the seiyuu for Viral in Gurren Lagann, who is voiced by Sam Riegal in the dub, who voiced Donatello in the 2003 series)
