The problem with the IGN trailer was that they had virtually no budget at all, at least compared to huge productions like Lord of the Rings. So they couldn't afford a better actor for Link, couldn't afford better makeup and costume design for Ganondorf and Impa and couldn't afford better special effects - but when you put all of that into consideration, the result was quite impressive.
As for Johnny Depp, I wouldn't put him in a major role. Perhaps a supporting character like Rusl, Shad or Barnes, but I'm not even sure about that. I think a big-name actor like Johnny Depp would detract a bit too much from the actual main characters.

But she could always put another one on, after all, she is an actress.
