Are you a person who likes to gamble or take chances in life? When a safe offer comes up along with a chance for a better one do you tend to take the chance in hope of getting the better offer or do you prefer to play things safe and avoid the risk?

Do you enjoy taking part in bets or any games that involve gambling? Is it something you'd like to do but don't get the chance usually, or perhaps do you simply not enjoy that sort of thing?

For general behavior, I normally am extremely cautious. But when something big for me comes around, I usually work up the courage to... rip the bandage off fast, jump in quickly into the freezing pool. That kind of thing, and just tell someone what I'm thinking. And then freak out in embarrassment almost immediately. Maybe 40% of the time I end up regretting blurting it out later. Usually, something about an idea I had that had me excited that in retrospect I as being rather naive about. But that is still less than half the time so not exactly a bad success rate for something that you'd think would be more of a 50/50 thing at its base.

As for the example here, I usually don't chance a better sale on something coming around. But I have chanced a sale happening sometime soon before on something that was not on sale. This year that happened twice. Both for games. One did happen, one didn't. I chanced that ESO crowns would go on sale in time to buy expiring crown shop items in time more cheaply like they did last time there were a lot of expiring items. It didn't happen, and I had to pay more to get them ('m too crazy not to get them). And then I chanced that The Sims 3 and its expansions would be included in the Steam summer sale, it wasn't always. And it was, and I got it for 75% off.

For gambling in games, I don't exactly like it. I prefer to go on my actual skill rather than random chance.

For actual real world gambling in the literal sense, I am too cynical about things ever going right for me to really ever try it on my own. I have scratched those lotto ticket scratch off things before though. But then, only ones a family member bought that they asked me to scratch because it was "good luck" to have someone else scratch it. Nonsense but I did it anyway. Only things we ever won was $1 here or there, sometimes rarely $5, usually a free sandwich or something, which I don't eat.

Gambled for the first time last week at a proper casino...I don't understand. I need to read a novel to understand it. I lost twenty dollars after almost getting back to 16 and was carded three times in the space of an hour. I feel like all the people who like gambling need me to tell them about their lord and savior, video games.

I'm pretty cautious in life when it comes to stuff that seems sketchy or that I don't believe my own mettle could get me past.

I do like poker, however.

I enjoy gambling games. I probably wouldn't if I was short of money but I can lose a bit for a chance to win big. I tend to do well at poker for some reason. Maybe it is because my poker face. I don't trust those slot machines though.

Occasionally when I have seen game shows on TV and the player is offered a big sum for pulling off a slightly more challenging feat and a lesser sum for an easier one I always support them going for the bigger sum and look down on them pussying out. It's what I would do in that situation. If you came in with nothing and then you have a chance for the largest sum. Winning big is the most appealing to me.

With items I do like to wait for a sale to come on and if I know there has been one before I am likely to wait it out. I'm often rewarded.

If I was ever taken to a casino, I would probably gamble my heart out. I've always been bad at spending money, but there's a certain rush about gambling that is enjoyable to me. Luckily I've never done it irl and hopefully never will but I've lost so much virtual money in video games because of it. ;-;

Gambling in games is fun because of the non-real currency. But sometimes RNG is a pain.

Does gambling on the chances of no pop-quizzes in classes count? :P

I'm not a gambler in either sense. In life I'm cautious to the point of neuroticisim and like to think things through around 20,000 times before doing them.

I think gambling games are for idiots. They're an open trap that people willingly step into. I mean, it's one thing putting a fiver on a work sweepstake like every four years when the world cup rolls around, but for me it's another thing to actually actively spend (aka waste) your life throwing money at casinos, poker tables, card games, super saturday games and so on just because the mood strikes you. I work for my money. I understand it's value and no game is worth losing it. Maybe one day when I'm stupidly rich... but even then you're just setting yourself up for a huge fall. I like my security and I won't gamble it on a game.

I've had issues with it in the past. I like to think I've learned to control my issues now. I still answered "yes" though.

Nope, I never was and never will be. I can't see the fun in going to a casino and toss money and get completely broken out of it. To gamble in life and taking risks and step away from safety and grab chances, definitely yes, but when it comes to gamble with money...a big fat no.

I only place money down for blackjack, poker, and craps. But not out in the open. Usually in a dark alleyway on the internet.... xD
