Actors deserving of an oscar

A simple thread, which actors/actresses do you think are deserving of an Oscar award but who are usually flat-out ignored?

I think John C Reily deserves one for sure. I may not like all of his roles (like the ones where he plays second fiddle to Will Ferrel) but he is always on form.

He is also a brilliant voice actor, which is usually measured as a mark of a talented actor.

So, how about the rest of you, who do you think needs an Oscar?

Please don't all say Leo Dicaprio... (we know he is never getting one )

The only people who deserve Oscars are the people who are politically minded enough to play the game and choose projects that will land them in the Academy's field of view. Few are those who win Oscars on sole merit.

The lead role and supporting actress in The Last of Us. Quite an underrated piece of film that is too often overlooked by the narrow-minded philistines of the Academy.

Honestly think that Oscars have lost all meaning. People know what to do and what to make if they feel like chasing the whole Oscar dream but is seems like it really has little to do with acting skill or film making any more. And has all to do with having a movie that is commonly voted on by the academy each and every year. Often by people who admitted having never watched the movie in the first place.

The whole rumor of Ben Affleck setting out to win an Oscar by specifically writing a movie that is designed to attract academy attention seems to have a bit more weight.
