Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Discussion

Thoughts on the tracks: Acorn Cup: Rome Avanti: I really like the unique enemies in this one. It's cool seeing rocky wrenches and fuzzies in a Mario Kart track. Plus, I tend to prefer city tracks set at night. Other than that, it's an above average city track. DK Mountain: This track has...

Thank you, Nintendo. One of the best DLCs ever made.

Final retro count for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 4 SNES 6 N64 8 GBA 7 GCN 7 DS 11 Wii 8 3DS 20 Tour And, yes, I'm counting DLC tracks without labels like Merry Mountain and Yoshi's Island as Tour because they were originally developed for Tour.

    They're adding more.

Just saw the video on this from Gamexplain. This DLC is truly an amazing value. Between the tracks, characters, Mii costumes, jukebox, and custom items (added back in wave 3), this is one of the best DLCs ever.

Wave 6 releases on November 9th! What a journey it's been. And it's a great line-up to end us off: Wii Rainbow Road, Tour Madrid Drive, GCN DK Mountain, Piranha Plant Cove, Tour Rome Avanti, SNES Bowser Castle 3, Wii Daisy Circuit, and 3DS Rosalina's Ice World.

Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Discussion

Mario Kart Wii definitely got the most love in the DLC, and that will be cemented even more if the DLC ends on Wii Rainbow Road. At least the Pauline vs. Funky Kong debate is settled with them both getting in.

Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Discussion

I think wave 5 is a little weaker than the past two waves. The bar has been set so high that it couldn't be topped every time, but I still appreciate this wave, especially the 3 new characters. Kamek is finally in a console Mario Kart after being cut from 64 all those years ago. Athens Dash...

Wave 5 releases on July 12th! The tracks are Wii Koopa Cape, Tour Los Angeles Laps, Wii Moonview Highway, Nitro Squeaky Clean Sprint, Tour Athens Dash, GCN Daisy Cruiser, GBA Sunset Wilds, and Tour Vancouver Velocity.

Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Discussion

A brand new course, Squeaky Clean Sprint, is coming in wave 5 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass. New characters are Petey Piranha, Kamek, and Wiggler. It feels like a dream come true to finally have Kamek in a console Mario Kart after he was cut from 64 over 25 years ago.

Wave 4 is my new favorite so far. It might not reach the heights of wave 3, but it's more consistent. Birdo is a great new character. I love all of her colors too. I'm repping red Birdo for her fire spitting variant from SMB2. Amsterdam Drift is in my top 3 city tracks. I love how there is...

Wave 4 releases on March 9th! We finally have a Double Dash track confirmed with Waluigi Stadium! The other tracks are Tour Singapore Speedway, Tour Bangkok Rush, Tour Amsterdam Drift, DS Mario Circuit, GBA Riverside Park, Wii DK Summit, and Yoshi's Island.

Yoshi's Island confirmed as a new track plus Birdo as a new character. I'd love to see Pauline, Petey Piranha, and Funky Kong also come to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Fingers crossed.

I know a lot of people were suspecting it, but with Wii Rainbow Road being confirmed for Mario Kart Tour, it's virtually guaranteed to be the last course in wave 6 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC.

I always love seeing Super Circuit tracks remade. They're some of the biggest glow-ups. Also, speaking of Super Circuit, Boo Lake is actually the first DLC track to feature an underwater segment. I'm glad Nintendo didn't forget about that feature.

Wave 3 is amazing. London Loop has a banger soundtrack, and I like how the bridge raises and lowers, though I feel this city has smaller changes than others across laps. Boo Lake is pretty short, but I enjoyed it, and I'm glad we finally have another spooky track aside from Twisted Mansion...

Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Discussion

Wave 3 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass launches on December 7th! They've chosen some awesome tracks. 3DS Rainbow Road looks stunning. There are no Double Dash tracks in the first 3 waves, though. I hope that game gets more love in the back half of the DLC.

Merry Mountain and Peach Gardens confirmed for Wave 3. Merry Mountain has anti-gravity, which I'm always excited to see more of. It's also the first track in the DLC to include half-pipes.

New York Minute feels a little too walled in for my tastes, but it's nice to finally have a city track set at night, and it sure looks good. Mario Circuit 3 is really bland, but it makes for some chaotic online fun. Kalimari Desert is one of the best N64 tracks in the entire game. I love that...

The prefix leak from a few months back accurately predicted what games the tracks in Wave 2 would come from: So that would leave us with: Rock Cup: Tour DS GBA 3DS Moon Cup: Tour GCN Unlabeled 3DS Fruit Cup: Tour Wii DS Unlabeled Boomerang Cup: Tour GCN GBA Tour Feather Cup: Tour...

Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Discussion

There are definitely a few more very popular tracks left like 3DS Rainbow Road, Airship Fortress, and Daisy Cruiser, so I don't think Nintendo has blown their load quite yet. As for Mario Circuit 3, this year is the 30th anniversary of the franchise, so having one of the original Mario Circuits...

Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Discussion

Sky-High Sundae is being added to 8 Deluxe first, and then Tour. So it's a weird situation. Nintendo previously stated every DLC track is from past games, so I thought this is a situation like Ninja Hideaway where the Track is from Tour but has no Tour label. I'll edit my post to remove the...

Ninja Hideaway is definitely my highlight of the first wave as well. Such a fantastic track. Didn't know Tour was hiding such a gem. I've heard good things about the other non-city Tour track, Merry Mountain, as well. Nintendo might hold onto that track until Wave 6.

I really like that each lap of the city tracks from Mario Kart Tour is a different variant. Keeps races fresh. Choco Mountain is another looker with the new cave and gliding section with the bridge. I also love the multiple heights you can switch between in Ninja Hideaway. The biggest...

Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Discussion

Just thought I'd make a thread to discuss DLC tracks as they are announced/come out for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I'm definitely nerding out too much over this. We have the first 8 tracks confirmed: Golden Dash Cup: Paris Promenade (Tour) Toad Circuit (3DS) Choco Mountain (N64) Coconut Mall (Wii)...
