Would You Stop Playing the Legend of Zelda if Link Was Homosexual in the Next Game?

I don't see it being a major issue of whether or not I'd play it in the slightest. Now, I have no problem with character being gay, but I feel like since the series revolves around Link saving a princess (even though the romantic aspect is minimal for the majority of the games) it wouldn't fit...

Things You Don't Like Nearly As Much As the General Fan Base

I loved sailing and collecting the Triforce pieces in Wind Waker. Ocarina of Time is not my favorite, hardly in the top 5. I actually really like Adventure of Link. That's really all I can think of at the moment.

Post Apocalyptic Theory Really Not That Far-Fetched

To follow up on your statement regarding Adventure Time, I am a fan of the show and the show takes place years after The Great Mushroom War (basically nuclear apocalypse) and the magic returns to the world and its inhabitants. Just in case anybody was wondering. In the case of Zelda though, I...

    Least Favorite Zelda Character?

I do not like Demise in the slightest. The whole idea of Ghirahim being a pawn to a Ganondorf knock off was cheap, IMO.

The First Two Zelda Games, is Everything Canon?

I just consider them as that early Nintendo charm. But if it were to be canon, we can clearly see that TLOZ/AOL are at the end of the timeline, correct? Perhaps the Hylian religion evolved to include symbols such as the cross in them. Just my 2 cents.

General Modern Guns in Zelda: What Do the Fans at ZD Think?

I don't quite see what you mean by that. Are you saying it would turn into a space opera, or it would be a shell of its former self? More on topic, I think a gun in the loosest sense would work. Like others have mentioned, an early flintlock or matchlock weapon with that Zelda charm would...

    Three-Branched Timeline Split Explanations

The three timelines splitting are caused by the outcomes of Link's battle with Ganon at the end of Ocarina of Time. So, no, I am not wondering why the timeline splits into 3 because we have an official theory. It's an interesting thought though, but I believe the Master Sword is "charged"...

    OoT-N64 Dungeons: Where's the Backstory?

Ah, I couldn't remember if they were looking for food source or bomb flowers. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

    OoT-N64 Dungeons: Where's the Backstory?

From what I played, Dodongo's cavern served some sort of importance to the Gorons, right? Haven't played in a while, but I'm pretty sure most of the dungeons can serve a purpose to the races of the overworld.

    Spoiler Skyloft, Later

Wouldn't it make more sense if the Ooccoo evolved from the Loft birds as opposed to the Skyloftians? Given intelligence by the gods to create the City in the Sky from what remains of Skyloft? Spitballing here, but who knows?

I... married Tingle. I think I'm going to have to think a bit about this one.

The Kokiri (Can They Die from Ageing)

That's an odd thing for Miyamoto to say. What exactly is the context for this interview? Because for something to just disappear like that sounds pretty un-Zelda like to me, unless I'm mistakenly reading this. Then again, Miyamoto's word IS law, so he probably has a better idea than I do. :)

    How to Pronounce Fi

Fee fi fo fum! I smell the blood of a Hylian boy! Sorry bout that, the poll made me think of that old tune. Anyways, always say Fee. Pronunciation is not my strong suit. OH-car-ina is how I say ocarina. :)

    Should Zelda Songs Have Lyrics?

Lyrics are not good, IMO. At least in the traditional sense. Lyrics like the Ballad of the Goddess and the chants in the original Fire Temple theme (and to an extent Link's distorted creepy shouts in the Forest Temple) I think are alright. But not in background music generally. So if anything...

    General Modern No Great Fairies!?

I too liked having Great Fairies around. It's like you could walk in, and they would do anything in their hearts to save you. Lots of fun finding them hiding all over the place. Don't worry too much, I'm sure we'll see them come back in a later installment. :)

    What's Your Favorite Zelda Game?

The Wind Waker was my all time favorite Zelda game. Skyward Sword came close, very close, but Wind Waker still holds that trophy in my little heart container. :)

    Is Darker Even Better?

In the case of Majora's Mask, which came out dark simply because thats the way it came out, I think it could work. In the case of Twilight Princess, however, where it was made DARK just for the sake of being DARK, it didn't work. And that's why Twilight Princess is one of my least favorite Zelda...

General Modern Which New Game Would You Like to Come Out First, Wii U or 3DS

Considering I own 1 game for my 3DS thus far, I'd have to say Zelda 3DS. Hopefully we will hear something about it at E3 this year. :)

    Could OoT-Phantom Ganon Be Vaati?

Once Vaati was transformed into his form we all know and love, he is a Hylian Sorcerer. So he CAN be seen by others, much beyond kids. In The Minish Cap, at the beginning of the game, everybody SEES Vaati steal the sword, no?
  20. M

    General Zelda Favorite Zelda Character

Vaati and Ghirahim are my two favorites. Both because I feel that these guys are a different sort of evil than Ganondorf. A more creative evil, so to speak.

Spoiler But They're Little....Zelda And Link:Love in Ways You Dont Think.

At first, I was going to disagree with you, but looking back on it, you may be right. In all of the Zelda games, Link is shown saving everybody, conquering evil, and living to his destiny, but never once does it mention him getting the girl. Sure, he has to save her. But beyond that, there's...

How Old Were You when You First Played Zelda?

4 or 5. I remember playing OoT for the first time at some party my dad brought me to. After that, Wind Waker soon followed when I was 5ish. While I was aware and enjoyed it, I didn't really get into Zelda until I got Minish Cap when I was 8. The rest, as they say, is history.

Which Zelda Game(s) Do You Think Your Opinion of Will Change With Time?

My opinion on OoT fluctuates constantly. On one hand, outside of the Zelda community if somebody is talking badly of OoT or talking down the Zelda, I will use OoT to describe by the Zelda series is so great. But within the community, and in my real opinion, OoT is not the best Zelda game. Not...

Hero of Winds. He didn't need the gods' approval, he went and did awesome stuff on his own.

    Song of the Storms Similarity

Never thought of it before. That has always been my favorite track from Yoshi's Island. Weird how it has connections across to another Nintendo franchise. Neat find.
  26. M

    Links Last Name?

I like to think that Link is last name-less. Because that just gives it less of a "you are the player, enter your name or Link's if you want" feeling in all Zelda games. So, even if there is a last name, I'll tend to ignore it. :)
  27. M

Most Over- and Underrated Zelda Game?

OoT is pretty overrated. I love OoT as much as the next guy (unless that guy thinks it's the best Zelda game. It's good, but not THAT good) but I seriously think it's THE single most overrated Zelda game. I understand it's importance, and I enjoyed the story from start to finish too, but Wind...

    Wind Waker Link's Victory Dance

Discussion #001: Ordon Village Built on Kokiri Forest?

Woah woah woah, slow down there partner. You're assuming that TP and WW are in the same part of the time line, where Zelda Theory up to this point as thought otherwise. After WW, Hyrule was never drained, new Hyrule was found in PH and ST. So, there goes that portion of the theory. In Wind...

The miniboss theme from Wind Waker is my top favorite. If miniboss themes don't count, then I guess I would say Molgera's theme from Wind Waker.

    Pronouncing "Malon"?

I say MA(like ma and pa) LON. Pronunciation of anything is not my strong suit. I say Phi as "fee" and I pronounce Ocarina as "oh-carina" instead of "ah-carina". Yep. Thats me, the guy who has an extensive vocabulary as some say, but can't get the words out correctly. :)

Twilight Princess What Was the "Worst" Part About TP?

The wolf sections really bugged me. Also, the entire game felt it was on one extremely linear path. I don't know why, but it just did. The graphics were also very muddy looking, and I did not find those particularly enjoyable either. But that's my issue with them.

None. I've played and completed many Zelda games, but I have never 100% completed one before. Maybe in another playthrough of one of them.

Is Link Truely Either Left-handed or Right-handed?

Master Quest OOT does have Link being right handed. Since the entire game is just flipped vertically. More Links are left handed than right handed. the rare occasions where Link is right handed are: Sprite flipping(Like in the original LoZ), Wii games, and in Master Quest. So while we can...

    Legend of Zelda Lego Products

I am an extremely active member of the LEGO community and a FOL(fan of LEGO) since practically birth, and being a Zelda fan I'm actively preaching the awareness of this idea. Young or Old Link

I'd choose both. In games like Skyward Sword, the adult (or near adult) Link works very well IMO. In games like WW and OoT, as well as some of the handhelds (Minish Cap in particular) the young Link obviously works better. I'd like to lean towards Young Link, but I like how Nintendo has...

Who is the Ghost Guy in Ocarina of Time

I always thought the ghost guy was the guard in the room wearing the Mask of Truth, since he clearly knows your name before you even talk to him the first time you enter, and he says it in a "matter-of-fact" kind of way. As others have stated, of course, I agree with them. Just thought I'd...

    Spoiler Links Royal Blood

It's not that he never was the true hero, it's that he wasn't chosen by the gods. WW Link very much became the true Hero of the Winds, its just the gods were never expecting him to do it. Which, IMO, makes him even cooler than the other destiny bound Links. :) And I wouldn't say that ALL the...

    Least Favorite Zelda Game

I would say AoL but it might just be cause of it's difficulty and annoying 3 life system. But I'll refrain from doing that. I'll say Four Swords Adventures because it doesn't really feel like a Zelda game in the slightest to me. The level system, lack of rupees, 4 links in 1(not a legitimate...

The Legend of Zelda Old Topic, New to Me: Racism Ties to Art Design

The only one I can see being intentional in the slightest is the Wizzrobe. The swastika is obviously JUST a manji, and not associated with the Nazi Party. The double lightning bolts is really a stretch, there's no other evidence suggesting any sort of connection. The Wizzrobe caught my...

    Native American Zelda?

I don't think Zelda is really centered around real-world cultures. I mean, it's certainly inspired by them (mostly from medieval European fantasy, but other influences are seen often) but I don't think there is any sort of distinct connection associated with each game.
  43. M

Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf Team Up?

Super Mario Bros is a much lighter, less care free franchise. It makes sense for them to team up since Mario is a series of fun, not really story based games. Keep that in mind, since The Legend of Zelda is not something so carefree. Heavily story based, I would hope that something like this...

  45. M

The Legend of Zelda What is You're Favourite Zelda Song?

Either the Wind Temple from Wind Waker, Hyrule Castle from Wind Waker, or Castor Wilds from Minish Cap. I'm leaning towards Hyrule Castle from WW.

Would You Let Nintendo Put Zelda on the Back-burner for 10 Years?

For the argument that Nintendo can't add a new iconic franchise, what about Pikmin? Pikmin is a rather recent series that has started to become an icon for Nintendo. So while it would be hard for them, it's not impossible for a new flagship franchise to be created. And for 10 years with no...

What is the Funniest Thing That You Had Happen (physics or Glitch Wise) in Zelda?

In SS, I was battling the Imprisoned for the Thunder Dragon's shield obtaining game. I knew I was beat, with only one heart left and the Imprisoned almost all the way up to the temple. I found Sky Keep to be the most challenging. While it wasn't the "THIS IS SO HARD MY HEAD HURTS" kind of dungeon, it did make me think and go "Wait a minute" quite a few times. For that reason, it was the hardest dungeon of the Skyward Sword dungeons. TBH, I didn't have trouble with the...
