You could also not get the wooden sword, get the two heart containers, then get the white sword.

I only use it on the boss, as I can always buy a new shield, but if it breaks, I have to leave the dungeon. When I get the Sacred Shield or Hylian Shield, I will always use it.

If you got you're file messed up, go to the Wii Shop Channel> Start Shopping> Channels> Skyward Sword Data Recovery Channel, and then download it. Then, follow the onscreen instructions. I hope that helped!

Definatley the Deku Baba. They were my first ever Zelda enemy and were great in every game.
