Yeah, I did actually enjoy the first. I didn't exactly go into it thinking "this is going to be exactly like Super Metroid", so I didn't mind that it was different. I also still thought it preserved some of the exploration, even if it still didn't have as much as Super Metroid. Prime 2 and 3 however sucked on that front. They were considerably worse, although I still think they're at least decent games.

Yeah, we're going to have a good year with the Wii methinks. The 3DS does look amazing. I'll have to get one when I can. Other M does look epic. It looks like the Metroid we've been waiting for. Interesting how there's suddenly a ton of 2.5D games coming out on the Wii.

The 2D Metroid games really nailed the exploration stuff IMO. When 3D Metroid game around, in my opinion they sort of just half-assed that mechanic. Didn't really feel like Metroid to me, with the exception of the first Prime. After that, the games might have been good, but they weren't very Metroid-y.

Yeah... well, I dunno. I'm like a super hardcore capitalist, so I think work and earning your keep is a good thing. :xd:

Especially when you're talking about 2D Metroid and 3D Metroid. Being introduced through one can lead to a lesser appreciation for the other. I do really like the Prime games though (first is my favorite by far), but Super Metroid is always MY Metroid game. It was actually the first video game I ever played, and I actually used to be a bigger Metroid fan than a Zelda fan.

Oh, yeah? I was that way a lot too... I didn't appreciate too many games much. Only recently did I realize how great Zelda was. NES gamers ftw.

Haha, I know. Sometimes it just happens because I'm busy as hell and can't log on.

Oh, that's cool. I'm not sure if I can say it's the best, but that's probably because I'm a Super Metroid fanboy, but I loved it a lot. Like with the Zelda series, most Metroid games are way up there on my favorite games list.

You're welcome. Oh, yeah? Coolio. Fusion is great, I played it a few years back by borrowing it from a cousin, but alas, I do not own it at the moment. Still, good stuff. Little odd story-wise, especially compared to the rest of the series, but awesome nonetheless.
