The Stick is an item featured in Link's Awakening as part of the fourteen-item trading sequence, and in Echoes of Wisdom.
Link's Awakening
"You found a Stick a monkey left behind... You take it!"
left The Stick is obtained once Link successfully delivers the Bananas to Kiki the monkey near Kanalet Castle. After building a bridge to the castle, Kiki leaves the Stick behind.[1] Link can then take the Stick to Tarin, who he finds in the Ukuku Prairie trying to knock down a hive of bees. He asks Link to borrow the Stick.[2] However, when he tries to hit the hive with it, the bees come out and attack him, driving him away and leaving Link to pick up the Honeycomb, the next item in the sequence.[3]

Echoes of Wisdom
When Zelda and Tri mend the Stilled Blossu's House rift in Echoes of Wisdom, many of the Deku Scrubs are aghast at the loss of a "Cotton Candy" source, and throw her in the Deku Scrub Lockup, taking all her items away in the process. The Deku Scrub who puts Zelda in the cell claims to feel bad about leaving her with nothing, and so gives her a stick.
The stick is utterly useless as an item, although Zelda uses it to gesture when getting Tri to bind something. It is immediately discarded when she gets the Tri Rod and other items back.
