Heart Appearance Up is an effect named in Echoes of Wisdom. It was also previously found, unnamed, in Skyward Sword.

Skyward Sword

Carrying one or both Heart Medals in the Adventure Pouch cause hearts to spawn more frequently when defeating monsters.[1][2] In Hero Mode, this is the only way to make enemies drop hearts, or for Heart Flowers to bloom.[3][4]

Echoes of Wisdom

Wearing the Heart Pin or Heart Barrette can cause hearts to be dropped by grass even when the standard drop table does not include hearts[5]. The Heart Barrette has a stronger effect, dubbed Heart Appearance Up +, than the Heart Pin. Both can be worn at the same time to stack the effect.
