The Green Tunic is the name of Link's starting outfit in Link's Awakening and A Link Between Worlds.

Link's Awakening

Only named in the Switch version, the Green Tunic is the clothing that Link washed ashore in on Koholint Island.[1] It is later replaced by the Blue Mail or the Red Mail in the DX and Switch version. If Link returns to the Fairy Queen after obtaining one of the colored mails in the Switch version, he can switch back to the Green Tunic.

A Link Between Worlds

In A Link Between Worlds, the Green Tunic was made for Link by the Blacksmith's wife.[2] When Link is first awakened by Gulley, he is already wearing these clothes. Link is later able to upgrade his tunic by acquiring the Blue Mail and the Red Mail, which give him better defense.

Echoes of Wisdom

"A tunic accented with a belt and a pointed hat. Wearing it fills you with courage."

Echoes of Wisdom in-game description

Link wears his conventional green tunic in Echoes of Wisdom, albeit originally under a Swordsman's Cloak. The Link Echo wears a green tunic as well, although it becomes dark purple when it takes enough damage.

Zelda can obtain a green tunic, resembling Link's, by completing all fifteen training sessions in the Slumber Dojo. It has no special attributes, and characters do not comment on the resemblance to Link's clothes.
