Rewards | Uncover Shai Yota Shrine |
Master of the Wind is a Shrine Quest from Breath of the Wild.
Begin the Quest
Kass can be found playing his accordion on the Horon Lagoon, located just north of the Lanayru Bay. Speak with Kass and he will reveal a secret about the area.[1] The song he sings talks about breaking rocks above the tempestuous bay, and using wings cloth and wood to land on the altar.[2] Kass things that the bay in the song is the Horon Lagoon right here, but is unsure of what the wings of cloth and wood are.[3]
Guide
The area around the massive u-shaped rock has a number of wind updrafts blowing. However, there are four different sets of boulders that are blocking the pathway of the wind. Navigate the area and use Bombs or Bomb Arrows to blowup all of the boulders. One of which is up in the area, attached to one of the passages leading into the central rock structure.
When all four boulders are blown up, the wind will blow through and the pedestal will glow orange. Make your way to a higher elevation and jump into one of the outside wind updrafts, that are blowing towards the rock structure. Use the Paraglider to glide along the wind to where all three gusts of wind meet up. They will then blow Link towards the pedestal. Glide all the way over and land on the pedestal. This will cause the pedestal to turn blue, allowing the Shai Yota Shrine to appear from underground, completing the shrine quest.
If the Paraglider is put away before landing on the pedestal, it won't work and you'll have to repeat the process.
Alternate method: If you have access to Revali's Gale, the entire puzzle can be skipped and you can use the ability to land on the glowing platform while holding the paraglider as described above. You can also glide down from Ja'Abu Ridge.
Shai Yota Shrine
- Main article: Shai Yota Shrine
The Shai Yota Shrine is a blessing shrine. The single treasure chest contains a Great Flameblade. Then speak with Shai Yota at the altar to get the Spirit Orb.

Complete | "He breaks the rocks that serve to bind, Above the tempestuous bay. On wings of cloth and wood entwined, He lands on the altar to open the way." The "wings of cloth and wood entwined" turned out to refer to the paraglider. After harnessing the wind and landing atop the dais, a shrine appeared. |

Speak with Kass to begin the quest. This third set is more easily blown up with Bomb Arrows. Wind will flow freely through the lagoon. Jump into the wind updraft from the outside and use the Paraglider. The Shai Yota Shrine will rise from underground.

- ↑ Oh! I was sure that I would be alone in so remote a place. Pardon me for not greeting you sooner. Oh ho! It's you! Although I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see you here. I know a song about this place. Would you like to hear the ancient verse passed down in this region? - Kass
- ↑ He breaks the rocks that serve to bind, Above the tempestuous bay. On wings of cloth and wood entwined, He lands on the altar to open the way. - Kass
- ↑ The "tempestuous bay" from the song could be this very bay. But what sort of wings are made of cloth and wood? It's a juicy riddle, but one I may never puzzle out. Take care, and may the light illuminate your path. - Kass
