Kokiri Forest is a small village in the forest south of Hyrule Field. It is inhabited by the Kokiri and their fairies. It is the home of Link and hence why he is dressed in green. The Kokiri are not allowed to leave the forest, since they think anyone will die.
The Kokiri Forest is home to the [[Kokiri]] and their [[Fairy]] companions. The location can be accessed via either [[Hyrule Field]], in which its entrance is to the east, or the [[Lost Woods]]. The forest consists of a village in which there are five houses and a [[Kokiri Shop|store]]. There are also many other constructions, like the [[Forest Training Center]], that resemble various playthings one might see on a playground. The north exit leads to the Lost Woods and the west to Hyrule Field. To the east lies the [[Great Deku Tree's Meadow]], in which the [[Great Deku Tree]] resides.


Oddly enough, Kokiri are seen outside of the forest on a few occasions. There are six houses in Kokiri Forest, Link's House, [[Mido]]'s House, The Twins' House, [[Saria]]'s House, [[Know-It-All Brothers]]' House and the [[Kokiri Shop]]. There is a hidden area where Link gets his sword, and to the southernmost point lies the [[Great Deku Tree's Meadow]].
The Kokiri Forest is a harmonious place during [[Link (Ocarina of Time)|Link]]'s initial tenure, though he can encounter [[Withered Deku Baba]]s. On his subsequent visit as an adult, it is teeming with additional monster types and the Withered Deku Babas are replaced by their tougher varieties. The forest is relinquished of all enemies after [[Link (Ocarina of Time)|Link]] defeats [[Phantom Ganon]] in the [[Forest Temple (Ocarina of Time)|Forest Temple]].

The Kokiri Forest is a location that appears in Ocarina of Time. It derives its name from its inhabitants, the Kokiri, a race of enduringly youthful children that are rumored by outsiders to be fairies. The forest is a peaceful place seldomly seen nor heard from by those outside its confines.[1] This is all thanks to its resident guardian deity, the Great Deku Tree, who keeps dutiful watch over Kokiri Forest and its denizens.
