The Ancient Spring is a material found in Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Breath of the Wild

Ancient Springs can be obtained by defeating any type of Guardian. Additionally, Link can find an Ancient Spring by examining a decaying guardian, as well as by lifting legless guardians that are in the water, using Cryonis. Additionally, Link can purchase Ancient Springs from the wandering merchant Teli for 60 rupees. While Teli normally only sells an Ancient Screw, Ancient Spring, and Ancient Gear, he has a rainy day special, where Link can purchase two Ancient Springs for the same price of 60 rupees.
Use
This material can be used in creating ancient equipment at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, including Ancient Arrows. Ancient Springs are used in the manufacturing of the Ancient Short Sword, Ancient Shield, and Ancient Bow. It is also used to purchase items from the Ancient Set of armor, such as the Ancient Greaves. When Link upgrades the Ancient Set at the Great Fairy, he will need at least 5 Ancient Springs for the first upgrade and 15 Ancient Springs for the second upgrade. Link can also trade an Ancient Spring with Kilton at his shop, the Fang and Bone, for 2 Mon each.
