Silent Shroom is a type of mushroom and material found in Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Breath of the Wild
"A strange mushroom that glows softly in the forest at night. Cooking it into a dish unlocks the nutrients in its cap, resulting in a meal that will allow you to move stealthily."
A Silent Shroom will restore ½ of a heart when eaten raw. Roasting it over an open flame turns it into a Toasty Silent Shroom, which restores ¾ of a heart, but has no stat-boosting effect.
Silent Shrooms can be used in a variety of Recipes, and they have an extra cooking effect of increased stealth. Silent Shrooms can also be used to create Light Blue Dye at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village.
Location
Like most stealth-related ingredients and animals, Silent Shrooms are bioluminescent, and thus easy to spot at night.
They tend to grow all over Hyrule, but they are must abundant in the Lanayru region, particularly along the pathway that leads to Zora's Domain. There are over 20 of them in a small area, just north of Ruto Mountain, just east of Luto's Crossing.
They also appear abundantly in the forest areas surrounding the Batrea Lake in the Dueling Peaks Tower region. Also in the Dueling Peaks Tower region, there are plenty just south of the Hickaly Woods, both at the bottom and top of the waterfall.
They appear more sporadically within the Tanagar Canyon, in the Thyphlo Ruins, and throughout the Akkala and Dueling Peaks Tower regions.
Upgrades
Silent Shrooms are required to upgrade the Stealth Set, which consists of the Stealth Mask, Stealth Chest Guard, and Stealth Tights. For the Level 3 upgrade, Link will need 8 Silent Shrooms, along with 5 Sneaky River Snails.
Age of Calamity
"A strange mushroom that glows softly in the forest at night. Making a meal of this will allow one to move quite stealthily."
