Requirements

Walkthrough

Follow the objective marker all the way to Akkala and speak with Hudson again at the location for Tarrey Town.

Step 1: A Goron

You will need to collect another ten bundles of wood, similar to last time, and turn them in at the objective marker.

Next is to find someone with enough physical strength to break the boulders - Hudson suggests a Goron - whose name ends in 'son.' In the Southern Mine you can find Greyson. He can be found awake at night, sitting by the Cooking Pot. Speak to Greyson to tell him about Tarrey Town. After he leaves, return to the objective marker at Tarrey Town where he has set up a new shop where ore can be purchased if needed.

Step 2: A Gerudo

Talk to Hudson again to continue the quest with the next objective of twenty additional bundles of wood.

After turning in the wood, the next task is to find a tailor for Hudson's clothes - he suggests a Gerudo - whose name ends in 'son.' In Kara Kara Bazaar you will find Rhondson. During the day, she can be found sitting in some shade to the right of the inn. Speak to Rhondson to tell her about Tarrey Town, be sure that you are not in disguise or the prompt won't appear. After she leaves, return to the objective marker at Tarrey Town where she has set up a new shop where the Desert Voe set can be purchased.

Step 3: A Rito

Talk to Hudson again to continue the quest with a new request of thirty additional bundles of wood.

After turning in the wood, the next task is to find someone to run a general store - he suggests a Rito - whose name ends in 'son.' In Rito Village find Fyson, who can be found on a platform near the inn. Speak to Fyson to tell him about Tarrey Town. After he leaves, return to the objective marker at Tarrey Town where he has set up a the a new branch of The Slippery Falcon, where arrows can be purchased.

Step 4: A Zora

Talk to Hudson again to continue the quest with a new request of fifty additional bundles of wood.

After turning in the wood, the next task is to find someone who can officiate Hudson's wedding to Rhondson - he suggests a Zora - whose name ends in 'son.' In Zora's Domain, find Kapson one level up from the shrine, behind the ramp that leads to the King. Speak to Kapson to tell him about Tarrey Town. After he leaves, return to the objective marker at Tarrey Town where he has set up an Inn (which can be used for free).

Talk to Hudson again to continue the quest.

Step 5: Bring Some Guests

The next objective is to talk to Bolson and Karson, who can be found by Link's House in Hateno Village. (If you have not completed the Hylian Homeowner quest, talk to Bolson sitting at the Cooking Pot in Tarrey Town, and they will return to your house in Hateno Village).

Then return to the objective marker at Tarrey Town to watch a cutscene.

Then head to the objective marker one final time to get your reward of three diamonds and complete the quest.

Adventure Log

Step Description
1 Hudson, Bolson Construction's veteran carpenter, has departed for the Akkala region to expand the business.

Akkala is far to the north of Hateno Village. If you happen to be passing by, stop in and pay Hudson a visit.
2 You bumped into Hudson in the Akkala region, and it sounds like he plans on building a town there as a part of Bolson Construction's expansion. He even has a name picked out—it will be known as Tarrey Town. That said, he is missing a few things required to make a town.

You know, small things—like lumber.

Bring him 10 bundles of wood to get him started.
3 You brought Hudson enough wood to get him started, but now he needs to break the boulders scattered across the future site of Tarrey Town. He's asked you to find a Goron strong enough to help out.

According to the Bolson Construction hiring guidelines, you need to seek out a Goron whose name ends in "son." The guidelines are unusually specific about this.
4 Greyson the Goron has moved to Tarrey Town, and his younger brother Pelison tagged along for the ride.

Pay the town a visit to make sure they arrived safely, and check in with Hudson while you're there.
5 Greyson and Pelison arrived safely in Tarrey Town and got right to work. Greyson is breaking apart the boulders, and Pelison is selling the ore they find within.

Hudson wants to build some more buildings, but he needs more material. Twenty bundles of wood should hold him over for this next bunch of buildings.
6 You delivered more wood to Hudson.

But now he needs someone who can mend his work clothes. He wants you to find a Gerudo skilled at sewing, but remember the stipulation in the Bolson Construction hiring guidelines: the Gerudo's name must end in "son."
7 A Gerudo by the name of Rhondson has moved to Tarrey Town.

Pay the town a visit to make sure she arrived safely. Check in with Hudson while you're there.
8 Rhondson arrived safely in Tarrey Town and got right to work. She is not only mending work clothes—she also opened up an armor shop!

Hudson wants to build more buildings, but he's run out of materials once again.

Another 30 bundles of wood should cover him for now.
9 You brought Hudson more wood.

His next goal is to open up a general store and trade routes, and he thinks a Rito merchant would be perfect for the job.

Find a Rito with the know-how to manage a shop and the connections to set up trade, and of course, make sure his or her name ends in "son."
10 A Rito by the name of Fyson has moved to Tarrey Town to run the general store.

Pay the town a visit to make sure he arrived safely, and check in with Hudson while you're there.
11 Fyson arrived safely in Tarrey Town and put the experience he gained from running his family's shop to good use. He opened up a general store!

Hudson wants to build another batch of buildings, but he needs more material.

Bring him another 50 bundles of wood.
12 You brought Hudson enough wood!

And now, as it turns out, Hudson is engaged to Rhondson! Can you believe it?

They want to hold a ceremony, so he wants you to find a Zora who can officiate. Even though this Zora technically won't be working for Hudson's company, he would be much more comfortable if the Zora's name ended in "son."
13 A former Zora priest by the name of Kapson has moved to Tarrey Town!

Pay the town a visit to make sure he arrived safely and to see what other shenanigans Hudson has been up to. There's always something going on with that guy!
14 Kapson, a Zora and former priest, arrived safely in Tarrey Town and began making preparations for the wedding ceremony.

Hudson wants to invite Bolson and Karson to his wedding, but he's too busy with preparations of his own. Go to Hateno Village to invite Bolson and Karson.
15 Bolson and Karson departed for Tarrey Town.

All that's left now is to return to the town yourself and enjoy Hudson and Rhondson's wedding ceremony!

Head back to the town and look for Hudson.
16 Hudson and Rhondson's wedding was a shining beacon in an otherwise dark, dangerous world.

Rhondson was a little taken aback by a few of the vows, but everything worked out fine and is in perfect compliance with Bolson Construction's guidelines.

It's only polite to give your blessing to the lovely couple who just vowed their undying love, so go talk to Hudson.
Complete Hudson and Rhondson are happily married, and Tarrey Town is enjoying great prosperity.

As a sign of appreciation for bringing the town together and as compensation for your work, Hudson gave you a hefty amount of gems that were unearthed during the town's construction.

You wished the couple eternal happiness before heading on your way.

Notes

  • Completion of From the Ground Up does not require the completion of the Hylian Homeowner quest, but completing it before Hylian Homeowner means that Link has to bring back Bolson and Karson from Tarrey Town in order to complete his house at Hateno Village. This means that Bolson and Karson will end up staying permanently at Link's front yard.
  • Regardless of the weather or time of day, once prompted, Hudson and Rhondson's wedding takes place during the day under sunny skies.
