I'd be possible, but unlikely. They tried the vague motion of console-ized PCs before with the whole Steam Machine project and that was a dud.
If I had to make a suggestion for a company with potential to rival Sony and Nintendo in the console market, I’d go with Capcom. They’ve had plenty of experience making hardware in the past seeing how much of a presence they have in arcades, and it’s not like they’re lacking in potential exclusives either. Resident Evil and Street Fighter alone would be system sellers that rival Mario and Zelda.
Also Monster Hunter. It's always been massive in Japan, but it's getting bigger and bigger in the West now too.

Xbox is NOT going third party.
But 4 of Xbox's previously Xbox and PC exclusive releases are going multiplatform.
It hasn't been officially confirmed, but it's rumored the 4 games are Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves.

I think this is just them testing the waters. It’s only a matter of time.

So basically, nothing has changed and the internet is horrible.
Nothing has changed, but Microsoft themselves indicated during the Activision merger hearings that they may leave the console business in 2027 if system sales and Gamepass subscriptions did not significantly increase.
So far neither number has budged much.
