I think it says something about an artist when they are willing to keep a mistake in a song to show that even they aren't perfect. At around the 3:55 mark Billy Joel stumbles with his words a bit and laughs it off, he made the decision to keep it in as he and others who were in the studio at the time felt it really illustrated the point of the song.
