In my point I view I see the Sheikah as a people, a philosophy of sorts. As a race they would not work, because to this day we have seen no Male Sheikah. Only female. as a philosophy, they would protect the royal family, etc. So In all honesty the theories of them being a race is pretty out dated, seeing the sheikah have been in 4? games now. I go for the philosophy theory.
