Forgive me mods if there's a thread like this, I haven't seen one int he first page (with 50 results per page enabled).

The impetus for this thread is this: I haven't played a Zelda game for any conceivable goal (100%ing, beating the game, or even trying to clear one temple) in almost a month. The series is really disinteresting me at the moment; even the prestigious Ocarina of Time is boring me (which is unheard of, knowing the fanboy I am). I mean, I did play Skyward Sword a few days ago to upload a boss clip, and Majora's Mask a few days before that to show some damage thing, but I didn't play the game for a reasonable length of time to do anything relevant within the game.

I know it's blasphemy to mention not playing the series, but I figured others might be in a situation similar to mine. When was the last time you seriously played a Zelda game - like, to achieve something within the game?

Last time I seriously played a Zelda game with an intention of getting things done was Skyward Sword the day it came out and the 20 hours it took for me to do it over the course of three days. Ever since then I've tried to play other games but got disinterested/annoyed by them enough for me to put them away and turn to something more compelling, concise and fun. I still play WW and TP and OoT at least once a week each but i just screw around in the overworlds. Doesn't look like that is likely to change any time soon either.

A month to a couple of weeks ago, I was trying to 100% SS on normal mode but, despite it usually being my favorite part of the game, I kept losing on the last battle in the Thunder Dragon challenge to get the Hylian Shield and I got bored and gave up just before starting Sky Keep. I've also never been able to get the heart piece from Fledge's pumpkin throwing game, the heart piece from the game on Fun-Fun Island or the rattle. I'm terrible at skydiving. A month or so ago I started TP but I hate the first temple so much I just give up. I've only actually played it through once. So, yes, I can totally agree about getting bored with the series. It's kind of a lose/lose situation because I wish Zelda titles came out more frequently, but if they did, they'd lack quality.

Just two hours ago. I am constantly doing playthroughs of Zelda games and there's nothing I hate more than leaving a game unfinished.

Im Constantly returning to ALttP or some of the many Hacks of that game, i know the hacks arent cannon, but some of them are really good like Parallel Worlds, its just a way for me to keep playing ALttP and it still be new.

but to answer the question, just yesterday and when i log off i will start again. i have been playing Zelda II for redemption purposes. that game chewed me up and spit me out when i was a child. and i havent had the nuts to go back to it till last week. the game is a Hell of a lot better than i remember it being, and now that i have TONS of NES skill and patients i can get through it. right now im on the Island Palace got all the way to the boss then when i was done realized i didnt get the item in that level, so now im running all over a dungeon i have already beat, trying to find the damn flute. i swear ive been everywhere........ so i just finally looked at the guide on this site, who puts invisible holes in walls in a game that dont lead to secrets. i could understand that, but an invisible hole in a wall that is required to proceed in the game, COME ON! NES how i love to hate you!

A few months back while trying to 100% TP. All the poes just disheartened me...

I'd prolly play OoT3D, but the L button on my 3DS decided to be a ****truck and stop working...

Last week when I finished playing through Link's Awakening for the first time.

Generally, though, I go through spurts. I'll obsessively play most of the way through a game over the course of a few days and then stop just before the final battle and leave it for weeks or sometimes months before picking it up again. I mostly tend to cycle through the console titles as I never buy handheld systems and probably play through one every three or four months. That's about enough to give me my fix without getting bored.

In September when my friend loaned me Majora's Mask. This also marks the most intensely round of trying to speed-play it in a few hours, because I lost my save cartrige. (she had the epic collecter's edition) Yeah, it really didn't work.

About a week ago. However that petered off as work took over, and I'm back to where I was last time I wanted to play this game.

I did a "serious" playthrough of Ocarina of Time 3D around Christmas. Asides from the boss challenge video of Demise I did a few days ago, I haven't played a Zelda game since that OoT run. I'm not "going off the series", I just...haven't been playing the games. Is that bad? I can't be expected to constantly play every series I enjoy.

The last time I seriously played a LoZ game was last week. I was trying to complete the Cave of Ordeals. I made it pretty far.

Last time I played a Zelda game seriously was a pretty long time ago. I got a bunch of heart pieces in Majoras Mask.At least enough to beat the garo master in the secret shrine.
