What would you like to see in the Nintendo Cinematic Universe?

So, it was recently confirmed that Nintendo is looking to make movies. So what would like to see? Do you think that movies should connect with each other much like the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Do you think films should stand alone?

What franchises would you like to see Nintendo make movies out of?

I think that either Zelda or Kid Icarus would be the perfect fits to make the first movies out of. However, I deeply believe that Kid Icarus would be the best first film for Nintendo. Due to the fourth wall breaking shenanigans of Kid Icarus, characters will be able to directly reference Nintendo. They already have a perfect voice cast, and Kid Icarus Uprising had an amazing story to boot. It would be undoubtedly the easiest transition from videogames to film.

The rights for a Pokemon movie are already out there, so they'll probably be starting with that.
Anyways, I'd love to see a universe. They don't even have to go the Marvel/DC route and make full team movies (ie Smash). Just maybe references and a few crossovers. That way you can make both sides of the argument happy.

I don't think there's a need for a universe crossover. Many of Nintendo's franchises just wouldn't work in a crossover due to their contrasting tones. Sure Smash bros works but that's not telling a story and the characters don't interact with one another. Couldn't imagine Samus having a chat with Mario. References to other Nintendo franchises would be okay though.

It would be really cool to see a cgi Zelda movie. I would love to see locations like Death Mountain on the big screen.
F-zero, Metroid, Fire Emblem are other really good franchises I can see doing well on the big screen for obvious reasons.

I'd like to see:

1. More Pikmin shorts. Getting really good at animated shorts is the stepping stone to animated movies. That is how Pixar did it.

2. For a movie, I think Fire Emblem would work. All of the characters talk (more than the HIIYYAAAA of Link and It'sa Me of Mario). Secondly all of the characters have really complex backgrounds, that could so be used in a deep and meaningful plot. Murder, romance, betrayl, jealousy, companionship, trust and more, is all in the Fire Emblem universe. I think it's a great start for Nintendo.

3. Star Fox could also work. Just look at the official Nintendo anime and the fan made Adult Swim 80's retro style Star Fox shorts out there and you'll see how rich a universe this really is when fleshed out. Also the two different videos prove that this universe can go mroe family friendly (like Nintendo did) or more gritty and personal (like the fan based 80's cartoon did).

I would like to see cinematic adaptations of the Zelda series but with video game movies, they are not usually well received. They usually divert so much from the source material and piss off the fans and even if they stayed reasonably true by adapting an existing game I don't see a way of them doing it as a lone Zelda film.

Even one of the shorter games like OOT would need at least a two part adaptation or else there would no character development, well known characters would simply be cameos, the film would basically be a montage of OOT's events and it would suck big time. The fans may find some joy in it but people who just go to watch a film would think it was crap. It needs to work as film as well for the everyday moviegoer to enjoy as giving fans of the game something to Squee about.

Nothing. They're trying to hard to be new and innovative, and all that is doing for them is hurting them. Nintendo should stay in the gaming industry where they are successful.

If anything, I would really not want any kind of a connected universe at all. Then you get all those real world/video game world connections that were tried in Wreck it Ralph and Captain N. I would rather they just focus on making a story about the game itself and not make the story about the setting just being a game.

A Kid Icarus movie would be fun, but a Kid Icarus movie that was self aware that it is a game, which would probably include some kind of kid player that has to save everything or interact with Pit sounds horrible. Connecting the games that literally have nothing to do with each other into some kind of joined universe would almost have to include something like this.

The game is on!
I think a shared Nintendo film universe would be amazing. Even just stand alone films based on our beloved Nintendo franchises would make me happy though. Anyway, the franchises I think would be best suited as films would be Zelda, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Metroid and Pokémon. But if they ever do make films out of these, be they within a shared universe or not (though preferably shared), I definitely don't want them to just take a specific game that exists and make a film out of it. I'd rather want them to make new stories for these respective franchises. That way they won't be restricted by a video game story and it'll also be much more fresh for us to view.

Doubt there'd be a connected universe. As a company who treats their stories as appendices to gameplay i doubt even their movie sequals will link....

However, Nintendo are making movie for better or worse, Detective Pikachu is confirmed and other will be here 8n 2-3 years.

So, the IPs i'd like to see would be;

Kid Icarus
Zelda

Metroid (but nothing like MOM or FF)

Fire Emblem (pre Awakening style like Rekka)

And Pikmin. Olimar and the gang would do really well if aimed at the Pixar crowd.

To add something new to this topic, if it were to connect, how would you want it to? Alternate realities? Different countries on the same planet? Different planets? Would you want Avengers-style crossover movies, maybe based on Smash? Or maybe just smaller two-person team-ups? Or even just references?
I'm making my fan design of an NCU, so I'm interested in people's opinions on this.

I'm pretty sure that they are in the making of a Majora's Mask film
