What kind of art style is Ocarina of Time?

Hi,

Been meaning to ask this for a while now. I can't quite put my finger on how to categorize the art style used in the official artwork for Ocarina of Time. What is this style specifically called? And if it does not have a name or is entirely unique, what kinds of sources did it draw from?

From my limited art knowledge, I'd say they are rather reminiscent of Baroque artworks; with a darker tone, strong central figures and lots of action shots.

Realistic, a bit dark. Maybe a bit anime, especially with Link's big, rectangular eyes and Ganondorf's giant nose. xD
