She nods. "Yeah. Let's camp out in the trees. We should keep watch, though. Now until midnight, then midnight until morning. Sound fair? Splits the night in half, and we'll get decent rest." She climbs a tree, and sits in a nice crook between branches.

Rachel nods. Of course it's fair. "I'll take first watch," she offers.

"You sure?" she asks. "First watch is a little tougher, but as is second. The dreaded dawn watch. Dawn is when the guard is the lowest."

Rachel ponders for a moment, and comes up with a solution. "How about instead we each take two watches. I'll watch for four hours, then you for four, and then we trade again. The more frequent switching might keep us more aware."

Rachel shrugs, not agreeing with her companion, but not willing to argue about it either. "Alright, then. I'll take the first watch if you'll take second."

A few hours pass pretty uneventfully, Rachel occasionally picking off the few infected that wander too close to their tree. At one point, a lone man, clearly human, runs by, not noticing the pair in the tree. What he's running from is obvious- two dozen or more infected on his trail. There's nothing Rachel can do about it, so she can only watch as he goes, grateful that his distraction, while unintended, kept the pair safe from that particular pack.

Once it's time to change shifts, Rachel gently nudges her partner. "Ariadne, it's your turn."

"There's not much to report. There was one wave of infected, but they were distracted by their human prey. I couldn't have helped him even if I tried."
