The Butler's son is easily the saddest of them all, imo. Not only is the story itself sad, but we see actual expressions that make for a darker, more emotional experience.

Koholint. I mean that the whole island and everyone on it disappears! And I mean the song that wipes away everyone is the song Marin sang the whole game. That's sad Let's also not forget that all the demons you fought were just trying to save themselves from destruction. It's a bit depressing. I wonder if Link felt guilty after he destroyed everything. I mean he saved himself and the Wind Fish, but at so great a cost. Wow.

And I realize MM is weird and sad, but LA is overlooked by too many.

Midna, that was the first sad part I saw in a Zelda game. Plus she's such an awesome character. Love her sassy personality, and how at the beginning she was only interested in saving her Twilight Realm, but as time went on, got attached to Link and saw that his home needed saving too. And despite how serious the moment was, she still managed to crack a joke about his reaction to her true form. I don't see the two as more than friends though. No matter how many times I come across twili/hylian hybrid OCs that people create to be their kids...but anyway I would love to see the twilis again.

If the crystal scene from SS was on that list though, I would vote for that in a heartbeat...

Ugh, I wish I could vote for both Fi and Kohilint, but I ended up voting for Fi, mainly because of the godammed music.

I voted for the Deku Butler's son.

Death is a central theme of Majora's Mask, and the entire game is quite sad. However, nothing even compares to this one particular part. The Deku Butler races Link because he reminds him of his son; what he doesn't know is that Link embodies the spirit of the Deku Butler's son. At the end of the game, we are able to see the Deku Butler weeping at his son's dead body. This is one of the very few instances in gaming that even came close to making me cry.

I don't get why the Deku Butler's son is winning. First of all, we don't even know who he is so why are people crying over a guy they don't know anything about? "But what about the credits scene?" people ask. Yeah, guess what. We only see him for like 2 seconds, that's it. It's too short for anyone to care.

Koholint is more deserving of being a sad moment. The whole island never frikin' existed and Link most likely fell in love with Marin, but he found out she was never real! Not the Deku Butler's son.

And how is Fi's goodbye even a sad moment. It was a moment of relief because this annoying creature-thing finally locks herself away for good.

Well it may not have much screen time, but the story behind it is sad. A guy LOST HIS CHILD. Children aren't supposed to die before their parents.

As for Fi...she was annoying, yes, but meh.

but we KNEW who Fi was,we KNEW who Daphnes Hyrule was,we KNEW who Midna was,we KNEW everything about Koholint island b/c we spent a drastic amount of time w/ them only to have them leave us forever
yet the characters that are probably only like 2% of their game are in the lead?

good to know all that character development was put to good use

You know what, that's a good point!

I didn't vote for Deku Butler's son anyway...

Hard to choose between the Deku Butler's son and Midna's Goodbye. The Deku Butler's son was one of the most emotional moments in an already emotional game. I didn't really understand the fact that the tree you came across at the start of the game was his son until I saw the credits for the first time. But then again, it's kinda obvious, since all your transformation masks contained a soul. Darmani for Goron Link and Mikau for Zora Link. Guess the son just was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Midna's goodbye was also quite sad. She acts like a bad *** through the entire game but in the end she finally shows her emotional side and that she actually appreciated Link. Really made the ending better for me.
