Oh I miss the days of Game Crazy (part of Hollywood Video Rentals). I knew all the staff and they had a battle of who could get the most pre-orders out of me haha. Good times.

Brick and mortar by far. Sure they might charge a little bit more, but you'd end up paying about the same online after shipping and whatnot.

This wasn't even a GameStop that I was at. There's still plenty of stores out there you just have to look for them.

Yeah just go on Google Maps, go to your area, give yourself some room and search "video game stores." You'll have to sort through assorted GameStops, tabletop/TCG stores, and other unrelated things but likely you can find a couple.
I despise the all digital gaming hellscape. It's an anti-consumer dystopia where you're encouraged to own nothing and where your games can be snapped away by the distributor at the push of a button. Physical will never not be a superior option, since that disc isn't tied to some far off server always at risk of powering down.
