Breath of the Wild Tingle for Zelda U

I like Tingle. A lot. And it's mostly due to his role in WW rather than dispite it. Why? Because he already fits the bill of Zelda's friendly saturday morning cartoon villain. But a bit darker than that. Why darker?

Take into consideration there are skulls in the back of his cell. Think about the implications for a minute.

He's a flamboyant little green psychopath that has been hiding bodies in his cell.

Here's a shockingly make sense idea, what if Tingle will play an important companion role in this game? You may have to be the one to help him chart the maps for Hyrule. Also, what if Zelda U's Tingle won't be in the same awkwardly deranged form of him we're familiar with? Zelda U Tingle may still have some form of delusional character traits but big difference would be that he may actually dress normal for a change. It's also possible we may also see some kind of incarnation of Linebeck play some kind of role in the, he may start of as a rival and partner where him and Link don't get along well at first then later as the two realize things are easier if they work together, then decide to help each other solve the mysteries of Hyrule. Here's a list of these roles:

Charters:

Tingle/Pre-Tingle - lead map designer
Link - combat specialist, hunter, explorer, map designer
Pre-Linebeck - archeologist, explorer, treasure hunter, map designer
and more

As for villains, I'll reserve that for a future topic.

I was just picturing that as i read your post. Of a normal dressed tingle who helps you. Perhaps he could then become driven crazy at some point in the story and don the Lycra suit, he could even become a nasty piece of work and end up corrupt, getting into extortion and slavery.

And then...YOU KILL HIM and he explodes like a piñata to the sound of childrens laughter and cheers!

I think killing tingle is a fantasy many a western player would want to play out in a Zelda game.
