Some of these signatures, specifically the ones without renders sticking out of them, could use borders. It generally makes signatures like that look much better.

FrigidBlade, I believe that's a boss. For some reason, I can't remember for the life of me which game it is from. Look at the bottom right and you can clearly see the face(if you can consider that a face) of the boss.

Very well-done signatures. :) You may want to consider experimenting with text a little more, though. Try some different placement, colors, whatever you can find. Text can be tricky to make it look good.

Well, here comes Hero of Music's critique. (funny how I always post after Kyby...)

Anyway...
I can see where you're trying to go with most of your signatures, but the way you approached it could be altered a little bit. I, for one, have never enjoyed "pop-out" signatures with the transparent backgrounds. While, I know that it might be your thing, I don't personally favor those signatures. But, there are a few ways you can improve it. Kyby said that you should add a border around the basic background. I completely agree. It defines the parameters that you have set and allows the image to "pop-out" more than they would otherwise. While borders on the ones with the pop-out renders aren't necessary, you might want to give them a try. Another thing that you could do would be to experiment with blending options, other than lowering the opacity. Do you use GIMP, or Photoshop? Anyway, its pretty similar on each. What you can do is take your smudging tool and smudge a few duplicates of your render (duplicate before smudging). After smudging, set the layer to "Overlay" or "Soft Light." If you do that a couple times, you get some really cool glow effects.

Now, the ones without the pop-out renders could use a little more effects and clarity. While some of the renders are completely obvious, a few of the signatures take some time to figure out. Now, if done carefully, along with the correct techniques, signatures like that can look really amazing. But, I understand that you aren't as advanced as a few of us here, so you might want to look into some tutorials that teach you how to do some of those amazing effects.

I'd recommend taking a look at my resource thread here at Zelda Dungeon. It contains a TON of information that deals with the making of signatures along with some tips for avatar techniques, if you're into that kind of thing. I'd also highly recommend following some of the tutorials that we have here on Zelda Dungeon, along with some tutorials on some of those sites I listed in that thread. Following the advice that I recieved from others can really make you a professional looking signature maker along with the other signature makers here at Zelda Dungeon.

Also, this post was in no way meant to hurt your feelings or make you feel like you aren't good enough. I, personally, received a TON of advice from people in many different forums when I was beginning. I even ask Kyby to critique my latest work all the time, and he tells me straight up what he likes and doesn't like about what I did with it. So, criticism is always good, especially if it makes you better at what you do. Keep up the great work! I hope to see you improve your skills and become one of the best graphics makers here at Zelda Dungeon! :)

I also agree with HoM. I am not a fan of the pop out sigs either. For a while almost everybody on here was using a pop out siggy. I use photoshop but I know many tricks which are also good for the Gimp users.
A border can be cool but not always necessary. You could do this: Once you're done with your siggy and you want to aqdd a border duplicate your siggy and choose Select > Select all. Now go to Edit > Stroke and choose a color and pixels and choose Inside. Click OK. Now deselect and choose a layer style. Play with bevel and emboss and this will add a very nice and natural border around your siggy. Of course it is your choose. Something else which also gives your work a great glow is to duplicate your siggy and go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and set it like 10 - 15 px. Then set the blending mode to either Overlay or Soft light. This will give a very mystical glow. Play with the opacity or Fill options.
I can tell you are doing a great job so far but some of your sigs need to get more depth. This is not any offense to you because I can tell you are very talented but just some advice ;) Keep up the great work because it is besides the points we already pointed out very good.

This seems very cool! The only problem that I have is that the text seems kind of dark, and blending into the background, making it a little bit unreadable. Other than that, it looks pretty awesome, especially the effects that you did on it. :)

I'm a really big fan of the last two. They are really cool... but both could probably use a border. When looking for a border I generally use 2 black bars either on the sides or at the top and bottom, it generally makes it look a bit better.

If you don't mind my asking, where do you get your C4Ds? Did you just download them from one of the resources in HoM's thread, or have you found some others? Looks pretty awesome, man. :) Keep it up.

I googled some, If you look up c4d in PlanetRenders, you get a lot of results. Like I said, I used a tutorial on Youtube that has links to the c4ds in the description. The last two being The prototype and the guy with the gun?
