Theories on Midna's Name?

This is a topic that I don't see discussed a lot, but I feel like it should be. My question is, do you guys have any theories as to why Midna's name is Midna? I mean, I'm sure there are about a million possibilities. To me, they named her Midna because she moves between the world of light and shadow, her name contains the word Mid, like middle or between. Dunno, just a small little thought. Please share yours

Midna's name most likely comes from the word midnight.

Um it's short for midnight. Iirc her Japanese name is literally midnight

I agree with Malon and Wolf. Probably a form of the word Midnight. Your theory is another interesting idea, though, and may have to do with the name anyways, with Midnight being the "middle" of the night, and Mid therefore being a root prefix of midnight.
