These are some pretty basic question. What is your opinion on social networking sites? Do you have accounts on some/one of them? Do you use them often or do you rarely use them?

I only have accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter. I really don't understand why I have an account on most of these sites. I never use Twitter or Instagram. I also rarely use Tumblr. I usually use Tumblr when searching for images, but, other than that, I rarely go on it. I never even go on my account one these sites. I don't really understand the point of Tumblr and Twitter. I also don't even know how to use them. I know how to use Instagram though, but it just doesn't interest me.

I use Facebook the most, but I don't go on it as much as I used to. I just go on to share pictures that I find interesting and poke people. I rarely use it to talk to friends or post something that isn't a picture.

I don't really understand why people use these sites all day. It seems really pointless, but I really should be the one to judge since I am on a Zelda forum all day. Anyways, that's really all my opinions on social networking.

I don't have any accounts for social networking sites. For all of them, I've never really bothered to make them, mainly because I have no interest in using them. Furthermore, there are many things about the content of Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. that irritate me or bother me. I don't need any of them either and I don't see myself using them in the future. Nothing seems appealing about them to me at all.

I use facebook and instagram, fb mainly to chat with friends and stay in contact with friends/family that don't live close to me anymore while instagram is more to see the snapshots of my friends everyday lives. And cakepan, most sites you listed are used for convenience. Instead of having to text all your contacts that you just had a baby you post a picture of it for everyone to see, instead of having to have coffee with all your friends to tell them the story of how you saw a hobo trying to catch a pokemon you post a status update about it, instead of having to say something utterly ******** in front one or two persons you post a status update for the entire internet to see!! ..it's about making things easier for people. ;)

Social networking sites...the common ones, anyway...are nothing but cesspools of duckface, IMDEPRESSEDxoxoxo, and other such things.

^ That's my opinion of SNS.

I think they're cool. I'm not allowed to get any yet so that's sad but meh. I think that they nice though, a lot of my friends and siblings have em and I imagine I'll get a FaceBook when I turn 18. Other then that I don't have much use for them. Maybe a Twitter for my Youtube at somepoint.

Only one I've ever had was facebook, but I got rid of it because it wastes time and everyone on there irritated me. Which is how I feel about social networking in general.

I have a Facebook and Twitter account. Twitter is absolutely useless for me though. I have only logged in twice in my life and realized how pointless it for me so I just stopped using it completely. As for Facebook, I still use it but not as much as I used to. I've lost interest in it and the only reason why I'm not deactivating it is to keep in touch with my current club members from numerous campuses and to keep in touch with family and friends that live out of the state/country.

I've used a lot of social networking sites mainly for their sole purpose, obviously being to socialise. MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. They serve their purpose, they are there for your usage, and however you want them to benefit you. You want to talk to someone? well you can use it simply to do that, want to post a picture? Well you can go ahead with that, want to check up on someone and how they're doing in life? Well you can do that. The list goes on really.

Fact is that, I can bad mouth these a lot, but it's how one uses them, they are not bad websites, they serve their purpose and can be beneficial to many. I have this state of mind that I don't like them, yet I still use them, just not as much as I used to. I'd remember sitting and chatting for hours with people and just randomly browsing, it would drag you into this cyber version of your own social reality. That's why it was so addictive.

However, I was never as obsessed as some, I wouldn't be the type to be all super lively and outgoing online and then be shy in real life, I'm more the opposite which is really odd. I'd actually rather talk and socialise in person rather than on a social networking website, even texting--a similar function--I found to be better for me. I was never that bothered about having an ego online, or to take part in a popularity contest, who has the most friends etc. It was slightly immature looking back. Then there was a load of drama online, especially Facebook. I'd try and stay out of it but people online have big mouths, so I'd get dragged into a lot fights and whatnot that would spill into reality as well.

I'm not the biggest fan of such websites, I feel they make people change and I've witnessed many people who are one person online and another in reality, it's odd to say the least. It all depends on how you use it though, it's great for communications and to have a laugh and reminisce, but meh I've gotten out of that whole phase now.

I have accounts on Facebook and Twitter, but I have never used my Twitter account beyond signing up. I got FB back in late 2009, and I mainly use it to post dumb pictures, and chat with my far away relatives. I've been using it less and less recently though, since I mostly rely on texting to talk to people. It's far more convenient, and doesn't require logging in everyday.

What's weird, though, is that I absolutely hate Facebook. All the stuff anybody posts on it is nothing but a stupid status update about what song they're listening to, or a status update revealing information that could easily get them arrested. It is incredibly annoying to browse through my news feed and see all those dumb posts.

I have got:

A Facebook that I use to share Doctor Who and Sherlock things. Also I made a page there woo.

A Google+ that came with my Gmail. :/

I have zero intention of ever getting a Twitter or Instagram.

I think social networking sites are cool if you plan to use them from time to time. I use Facebook to keep in touch with my friends and continue to discuss about what is going on our lives. I have a twitter, but it seems I occasionally posts special posts and hear the latest news from my favorite pages such Nintendo, GameFreak, Pokemon, my friends, etc. As for tumblr, I don't have one but I always enjoy seeing posts and gifs relating to whatever I was searching for. Finally, I have an Instagram and I really love taking pictures of what is going on in my daily life! And that's all I have for my intake for social networking sites. I think they are pretty cool if your are committed to it in the first place. ^^

I used to frequent Twitter a lot (keeping up to date on fandom news, venting about stuff that bothered me, chatting with friends I made there), but then my interest kinda died down. I mostly just have a tumblr account so I can reblog gifs I come across that I like. And I sometimes use it to promote videos that I make, because every hit counts. Never had instagram, nor do I care to. That's one I just don't get at all...

Facebook is the one I use daily. Now, yes, I will agree that so many people out there use it for just plain uninteresting things, but the great thing is that you can choose to actually hide those people's posts from your wall. I used it for a myriad of things. I'm a member of various fan-pages there, which keeps me up to date on fandom news, plus result in plenty of fun and/or geeky stuff to check out. I keep up with my convention buddies there, keep on top of announcement for various cons, etc. And I use it to chat with friends, both online and real life ones. Facebook is dead useful to me and my friends, because whenever we want to hang out as a group, texting or calling back and forth is inefficient and mostly a waste of time. So whenever anyone of us wants to do something, we create a private event on FB and invite each other, then we work out the what and when together.
