Skyward Sword Skyward Sword U: What Are Your Feelings Towards This Idea?

If nintendo remade skyward sword for the WiiU I would like to see voice acting so I don't get bored of reading everything. Also bumping up the graphics to HD would be a nice touch.

1. We like Skyward Sword the way it is.
2. Nintendo should focus on the upcoming games.
3. If you think voice acting in a nintendo game is a good idea, look at Metroid: other M or Super Mario Sunshine.

Nintendo remaking Skyward Sword for the Wii U would be a ridiculous thing. I'd be incredibly disappointed with their decision making if that happened. I don't really see what the game would gain besides nicer visuals and that is far from enough to justify remaking a game that is only a year old and split the fanbase. Nothing good would come of such a thing.

There are so many problems with that particular remake. Firstly and ultimately, It's already playable on the Wii U thanks to Backward compatibility for Wii games, so that rules out the possibility completely. Not to mention Skyward Sword is the newest Zelda game to date and the visuals are slightly enhanced when you play it on the Wii U. There is no justification to make a Skyward Sword remake at this time and adding something that doesn't really improve the original is a waste of time.

Hmmm, I can understand why some would want this to happen, but I really don't see the need for it. The most blaring reason is that Skyward Sword just came out, and a remake this early might(will) cause Nintendo problems. Secondly, Skyward Sword wasn't really revolutionary enough to have a legacy like that, it would tear the game down even further from where it is at now, especially if the voice-acting you mention is bad. I mean, sure, I would buy the game even if it was remade 4 times, but I just don't see any real reason to remake it.

My feelings towards this idea are the following: no, this is a terrible idea.

Nintendo classically doesn't do much to remakes. Look at Ocarina of Time 3D -- the game just got better visuals and two extra modes, alongside some tweaks to Master Quest. Skyward Sword U would be the same irritating game with updated visuals (the only noticeable thing would be anti-aliasing to make the game look sexy), and I SUSPECT they'd add the ability to skip cutscenes at any moment. But, I ask myself, is that worth it?

And all I receive (from myself) is a resounding NO.

I thought this thread meant a sequel to SS, but you're wanting a remake already?

I hate SS, i don't like the motion controls, i dont like the seemingly boneheaded design choices, dont like the plot or narrative, don't like the characters and it just doesn't feel like Zelda, too much is missing from the past despite it being nothing but a deformed amalgamation of everything Zelda from the past 25 year with forced motion control.

Even then it still burns me that the TGS trailer is presented in HD graphics which is really what SS should have always looked like: The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword TGS 2011 Trailer - YouTube

I'm so glad that SS isn't the game to be Nintendo's first HD home console game on the WiiU becuase it was such a disappointment, i wouldnt like to play this game again on a superior console with added bits becuase really adding everything that i felt was missing would only raise this game to average for me because it won't fix the majority of the game or raise it to the level it should have been. So no to a remake.

i believe the fans have spoken with a tumblr_m1tqkzQ8NJ1ql6qag.jpg and i agree, Fans have been wanting a Majora's mask release for the 3DS similar to what they did with OOT. but if Nintendo just came out with a SS game HD release/remake it will peeve off alot of fans because it is not what they wanted

It split the fanbase? As far as I remember, wasn't that Wind Waker. I know that it was the only Zelda game to cause that big of a rift between the fanbase.

Nope. It's my opinion that voice acting almost never makes a game good. There are some counterpoints to this, mind you, but most of the time when a game has voice acting in it it makes it worse. Need I remind you of this?

I think my point's proven.

And even disregarding the voice acting thing, the game JUST CAME OUT A YEAR AGO! I only get behind remakes when there's an obvious graphical upgrade from the original like with OoT and (hopefully) Majora's Mask. I see no reason to HD-ify SS when the game already looks good.

No, no. We don't need this game to come out again. What is the point? Just for the voice acting? That's ridiculous.

I would understand remaking a game like OoT that is about 18 years old, but not one that came out 2 years ago. That would be unnecessary and a waste of time. Besides, as others have said, you can already play it on the Wii U. You don't need to update the game to a modern console, like they did with OoT.

No.

Ghirahim doesn't like unnecessary remakes, either.
