If Skyward Sword is the first in the timeline, could this be the Zelda that all the other Zeldas get their name?

What do you mean all the other Zeldas get their name? Can you please elaborate on that?

I think that it might just be a chance that this Zelda is actually named Zelda. Because (as your title suggests), the prince from Adventure of Link ordered that every daughter of the Royal Family was named Zelda because he was sad that he had the wizard (presumably Carock) curse Zelda into a coma. Unless.....Adventure of Link comes before every other Zelda game...........this topic is best left to the timeline specialists.

I don't think so, because the reason the "original" Zelda was cursed was for not divulging the information on the location of the Triforce of Courage, which was hidden in North Castle, exactly where Link finds it in the game. This makes it impossible for games like OoT to come in-between.

The best explanation I've heard is that the backstory of AoL still serves as an "origin story" for Zelda's name in the series from a game or legend perspective even though it no longer is the first chronological event. So if you're looking strictly at continuity of events the story makes no sense; but if you look at it like a story or legend, you can still explain that "Zelda has the same name in every game because at some point a prince demands it" without requiring that the demand came before the name. A similar thing may have happened with Link's hat in MC. Link has a hat in every game because at some point, not necessarily before he starts wearing hats, a talking hat joins him.

The game is on!
No, I don't think that's possible. Cause the Zelda in that legend had a father who was the King of Hyrule, and I doubt that is the case in Skyward Sword (but of course, I might be mistaken). I think that Zelda is perhaps the SS-Zelda's granddaughter or something like that. :zelda:
