Oracle Of Seasons/Ages Roc's Cape in 2D Doesn't Work for Me

In the Sword and Shield maze near the end of oracle of seasons there is a 2D section where you use Roc's cape, however I can't use it's flying ability for some reason, can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I don't remember that part. I finished that game and don't remember having any problems. Maybe cause of a wind you cant see??

You may only be tapping the button causing only a short hop. Try holding the button or double tapping and holding it. Or you could try putting it on the other button. Also your gap may be too long to glide over. You may need the magnet glove or use pegasus seeds.
I don't know of any other causes for it not to be working.

yeah thank's didn't know I had to hold in the button to double jump, though I don't know how I could've gone so for without knowing anyway

Getting far without using the glide is impressive. Didn't the game tell you to hold down the button when you first got it?

well I did use it, I just double tapped everywhere else, I don't remember it saying I should hold the button
