At the beginning of 2013, Pokémon X and Y were announced along with the Legendary Pokémon and the Starter Pokémon. Throughout the year, more and more of the Kalos region's Pokémon have been revealed on Pokémon X and Y's Official Site and other official sources. This post contains information about the revealed Pokémon plus many screenshots of them, neatly placed right here at the forums.

So, how do you like the Pokémon revealed so far? Out of the seen Pokémon, which one is your favorite? What Pokémon do you feel has the most potential?

Legendary Pokémon

Xerneas
Life Pokémon

ZURR-nee-us

Xerneas's Ability is Fairy Aura, which strengthens Fairy-type moves for all Pokémon in battle, including your opponent's Pokémon!

Xerneas is a Fairy-type—a brand-new type being introduced in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Watch the awe-inspiring beauty of Xerneas’ exclusive move, Geomancy, which features rainbow-colored light that erupts from the earth around it. Xerneas has the special Ability Fairy Aura, which naturally takes effect in battle, strengthening Fairy-type moves for all Pokémon in battle. Be careful, because Fairy Aura also has a positive effect on opposing Pokémon that know Fairy-type moves.

Yveltal
Destruction Pokémon
ee-VELL-tawl

4f7ca48b5c.jpg

With Yveltal's Dark Aura Ability, the power of Dark-type moves increases for all Pokémon in play.

Dark- and Flying-type Yveltal is the only Pokémon that can learn the move Oblivion Wing, which sends Yveltal flying high into the sky to release a powerful beam of red light that scorches the ground below. The Destruction Pokémon’s special Ability, Dark Aura, is a counterpoint to Fairy Aura, raising the strength of Dark-type moves for all Pokémon in battle. This Ability is powerfully effective in Double and Triple Battles when facing multiple opponents simultaneously. So, when Yveltal is in battle, it’s smart for players to fill their team with Pokémon that can use Dark-type moves.

Clauncher
Water Gun Pokémon

32995fad82.jpg

Clauncher is easily recognizable by the oversized claw on one of its arms. This useful claw can seize prey and shoot water at others as a projectile!

Clauncher's enormous claw can also crack boulders when the Pokémon is at close range.

Pokémon Developer Round-table said:
The Water Gun Pokémon Clauncher uses its one oversized claw not only to seize prey but also to shoot condensed water at others as a projectile. This capability is so intense that it can crack a boulder! A Water-type Pokémon, Clauncher can also use its giant claw to crush opponents with the powerful Water-type move Crabhammer, which is more likely to land a critical hit. Critical hits against opposing Pokémon will do twice the usual damage.

It is now known that the previously announced Water-type Pokémon Clauncher can only be captured in Pokémon X, and the Poison- and Water-type Pokémon Skrelp can only be captured in Pokémon Y.

Dedenne
Antenna Pokémon

The round shape of Dedenne makes this Fairy-type Pokémon instantly recognizable. Dedenne has the Cheek Pouch Ability, new to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. If a Pokémon with this Ability eats a Berry during battle, it will not only reap the usual benefits of that Berry, but will also be able to regain HP.

By emitting radio waves from its antenna-shaped whiskers, it can communicate with far-off allies.

Flabébé
Single Bloom Pokémon

Another newly discovered Fairy-type Pokémon, Flabébé clings to a flower early on, and then cares for it for its entire life. Because of this, Flabébé may be found holding flowers of different colors.

Debuting as a Fairy-type Pokémon along with Sylveon, Flabébé lives atop a flower that it chooses soon after it’s born and will care for its entire life. Players may see different Flabébé holding flowers of different colors when encountering them in the wild. Flabébé is able to draw forth hidden powers that lie within its flower and use those powers in moves while battling. Flabébé knows Fairy Wind, a Fairy-type move debuting in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y that summons a wind that blasts an opponent as it attacks. Like all Fairy-type moves, it’s super effective against Dragon-type Pokémon.

Inkay
Revolving Pokémon

Transmitters above Inkay's eyes have the ability to drain the will to fight from other Pokémon. It uses this skill to run and hide when attacked by stronger enemies.

With Inkay's Contrary Ability, any effect that would lower its stats increases them instead!

Players will encounter Inkay in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. This Dark- and Psychic-type Pokémon has the ability to drain other Pokémon’s will to fight by flashing the transmitters above its eyes—giving Inkay the opportunity either to attack its foes or to hide from them. It’s said that the flashing emitted from Inkay’s transmitters can also be used to communicate with its friends. Inkay can learn a new Dark-type move, Topsy-Turvy, a tricky move that will reverse all of the stat changes that are affecting a target. For instance, if opponents increase their Attack and Defense stats during battle, it will suddenly come back to bite them when Topsy-Turvy is used.

Malamar looks different from Inkay and has different stats, but its Contrary Ability remains the same.

The Dark- and Psychic-type Pokémon Malamar is the evolved form of Inkay and may have the strongest hypnotic force of any known Pokémon, helping it to bend opponents to its will. As a result, humans with ill intentions try to use Malamar to aid in their devious plots. Malamar can learn the Psychic-type move Hypnosis, which leaves opponents asleep and for the most part unable to take any actions during battle.

The Sound Wave Pokémon Noivern is a Flying- and Dragon-type Pokémon that is extremely combative and will attack anything that wanders too close to it. Flying through the dark night with ease, Noivern uses the ultrasonic waves it emits from its ears to attack. These waves are so strong they can reduce large boulders to small pebbles. A new Normal-type move in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y that perfectly suits Noivern is Boomburst. This move emits an explosive sound wave that attacks all surrounding Pokémon with the resulting energy. But beware—Boomburst will also strike any nearby allies, so consider the situation and your team’s types before using it!

Pangoro has the Iron Fist Ability, which strengthens punching moves.

It is now known that Fighting- and Dark-type Pangoro evolves from spunky little Pancham. This evolved Pokémon has a violent temperament, but it also believes in fairness and does not forgive those who pick on the weak. The leaf Pangoro carries in its mouth can predict its opponent’s moves. By waving its strong, heavy arms, Pangoro uses the Fighting-type move Hammer Arm to inflict great damage on opponents. It does lower the user’s Speed, but Hammer Arm’s power is tremendous.

Spewpa
Scatterdust Pokémon

Spewpa is the middle Pokémon of this evolutionary chain. With enough experience gained from battle, Spewpa will eventually evolve into Vivillon.

Spewpa gains a stiff carapace once it evolves from Scatterbug, so less forceful attacks will hardly make a scratch.

Scatterbug evolves into Spewpa, another new Bug-type Pokémon that can withstand half-hearted attacks due to its stiff, fur-covered body. Use the Normal-type move Protect at a beginning of a turn to protect Spewpa from moves used against it on that turn.

Swirlix
Cotton Candy Pokémon

Exclusive to Pokémon X, Swirlix loves sweets and eats nothing else, making its body as sweet and sticky as cotton candy.

Swirlix's Sweet Veil Ability is new to Pokémon X and Y. It keeps Swirlix's Pokémon teammates from falling asleep.

The Fairy-type Pokémon Swirlix, which can only be captured in Pokémon X, comes with the new Ability Sweet Veil that keeps Pokémon on the same team from being left asleep in battle. Use Swirlix when facing Double and Triple Battles featuring Pokémon that know moves like Hypnosis. Swirlix can learn the new Fairy-type move Draining Kiss, which does damage to a target while also restoring some HP to the user. Battles will be much easier when you can attack an opponent with Draining Kiss and restore your Pokémon’s health at the same time. Swirlix only eats sweets, causing its body to be sweet and sticky, like cotton candy.

Sylveon is a newly discovered Evolution of Eevee! Experienced Pokémon Trainers know that Eevee can evolve into seven different types, and now a new Eevee Evolution with a different type has been revealed! Sylveon is one of the first Pokémon clearly identified as a Fairy-type Pokémon. This means that Eevee can now evolve into eight possible Pokémon, each with a different type!

The Fairy-type Sylveon is an Intertwining Pokémon that can manipulate its ribbonlike feelers at will and can emit from them an aura that can calm people and other Pokémon. It often wraps these feelers around the arm of its Trainer as it walks behind him or her. Sylveon can learn Moonblast, a new Fairy-type move debuting in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Moonblast calls on the power of the moon to attack an opposing Pokémon. This move can be very powerful and also lowers the opposing Pokémon’s Attack stat.

After evolving from Spewpa, Vivillon gains beautiful wings.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will introduce the new Bug- and Flying-type Pokémon Vivillon. I wasn't particularly impressed with Generation 5's Pokémon, but I feel that Generation 6 is taking a step in the right direction so far. I have quite a lot of confidence that this will be one of the better generations, and the Pokémon revealed thus far are a shining example of this. My only concern would be if they're too powerful. Generation 5's Pokémon were rather overpowering when compared to previous generations. I just hope that there's more of a balance this time around.

Odd knows which one is my favorite. :right: I've taken a liking to Chespin, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's my favorite. I'm torn between both Pancham and Gogoat. And to answer your next question, I feel that these two have the most potential. Gogoat has already proven to be incredibly useful by allowing the player to ride on its back. Pancham on the other hand, has lived up to its potential by revealing to have a powerful evolution. In addition to those two, I feel that Sylveon will prove to be not only a great Eeveelution, but a powerful Fairy type as well.

Just my two cents. :loveeyeballs: Good thread, Odd. ;)

With the Trailer/Pokémon X and Y Official Site detailing the new Pokémon now has been released, I will start updating the OP with the new Pokémon so look forward to that in the near future. :)

Anywho, I am really liking a lot of the designs of the Generation 6 Pokémon so far such as Spewpa and Noivern and am looking forward to more Pokémon being revealed. I might even have my favorite Pokémon come from Generation Six by the looks of it.

Which Pokémon is my favorite so far? That would have to be Spewpa. I am really fond of Spewpa plus I love the design of the bug-type Pokémon and can't wait to evolve Scatterbug once Pokémon X and Y releases. I also find that Spewpa is one of the better designed "second" evolution for the typical line of "cocoon" bug Pokémon. ^^

I really like them. I have been playing since red and blue (my games still work! :D) and currently own all 649. I can say I am not to crazy of most of the designs so far but Gen 6 looks like it has some nice designs. Plus they all look good in the 3d battles too.

The most potential would be Xerneas. It is the 1ST legend to be a new type and so who knows how in the plot it will fit and what it is capable of.

My favorite would be between Honedge (I love medieval warfare) and Malamar because Dark/Psychic is a unique typing.

I think I'm going to pre-order Y. Yveltal just has a cool typing. Even though Xeerneas is a brand new type.

I might make a friend buy X so that I can get game exclusive pokemon. Just kidding.

I hope it is possible to migrate from gen IV!!!

Y'know, the thing that always concerns me most about the impending arrival of a new Pokemon game is the quality of the Pokemon designs. To be fair to the series in general, I'm a huge fan of each generation regardless of the designs chosen. The games are great, each in their own way, and always seem to provide me with hours of entertainment regardless of how the Pokemon look. However, my interest in playing these games over and over again really hinges on whether or not I like the designs (call me superficial ;P).

For instance, I love Gen 1 and 2's Pokemon designs, but had a lot of trouble falling in love with any of the designs from Gen 3 or 4. Gen 5 shocked the crap out of me with how cool nearly all of the designs were (a few favourites are Chandelure, Golurk, Conkledurr, Scolipede, Co***rigus, and so on), but even then, none of the starters really looked that great. I actually ended up putting my Emboar in one of my storage boxes – something that just felt wrong to do, but I just couldn't stand lookin' at him any longer.

Given all this, I have to say, I'm probably the most impressed with how Gen 6's designs look so far. All of the starters have so much personality that I am going to have to think a long time about which one I'm going to pick. Although it'll probably be Froakie. Cause frogs are rad.

I think that all of the designs that have been showcased for Gen 6 so far look amazing, however I am probably most excited for Honedge. I really liked Bronzor and Bronzong from Gen 4, as I thought that it was neat that Game Freak were branching out to inanimate objects for new Pokemon varieties. Now that we've got a sweet-looking crazy ghost sword thing, I don't even know what I'm going to do to keep my excitement for this game in check :D

Woo! New Corocoro pictures have been uploaded to the internet. I might as well do the same. Looks like we finally get to see the second stage of the starters! I'm actually loving them so far!

I actually really like Froakie's first evolution... Fennekin's looks okay, but I don't know why they went for the anthropomorphic fox chick. Don't we already have Krystal for that?

And Chespin's just sucks. I didn't think that it would wind up well, and this is even lower than my previous expectations.

Who knows, maybe their thirds will be incredibly boss. We'll just have to wait and see.

Just imagine if Chespin's 2nd stage evolution breaks out of the fat chestnut shell. He has a spiky green helmet, like Chespin, spiky green arm guards and leg guards, and a chestnut styled shield. That, along with the rumored dark type would be awesome.

So, apparently the overworld will disable 3D, and framerate in battles can drop with the 3D on (like in Fire Emblem: Awakening).

This just makes me wonder even more why they went full 3D in the first place. I loved the overhead view and sprite-based battles and was already going to miss them dearly, but now that the 3D is basically useless, it's as if the purpose has been defeated. :/

I guess the 2DS makes more sense than ever now, though.
