I’ll usually look at a game’s achievements before I play them, but I won’t go out of my way to collect an achievement unless I’m really enjoying the game as the achievements do sometimes add a challenge element to the gameplay and can extend gameplay time if they’re really time consuming.
The only achievement in a game I didn’t really like all that much I went out of my way and spent hours grinding out was the Leroy Jenkins achievement in Borderlands 2. At the time, the percentage of players who had acquired that achievement was so low that it felt like a proper accomplishment.
