Kingdom Shader is rather... different looking. The game appears to be a drastic visual departure from the series. I'm... not sure how I feel about that yet. I imagine it will be easier to get used to in the full game, but it's a very jarring visual disparity.

What do you mean? The art style is exactly the same.

Art style and visual style are two very distinct things. While the art assets appear virtually unchanged, the visual style has been completely changed with the addition of the Kingdom Shader engine. Colors are more muted to account for the dynamic lighting and shading, and the vibrancy that has up until now marked the series' visual style is gone. It's not a bad thing - it's simply a different visual style, and the sudden change is very jarring given the past 11 years of bright visuals.

It's far too early to pass judgment, but so far I'm not sure I like what I see. It will certainly take some getting used to at the very least.

Master Sora...never thought I'd hear (or see) such a title. I wonder what the DP and EX gauges are there for. Hopefully DP will be the MP bar; I've missed KH2 magic for a very long tiem. EX gauge...please the return of Drive Forms? (aye)

Gameplay aside...I think the visuals are a bit different, yeah. Twilight Town at the very least makes the series seem far more realistic - lacks that Disney spice that I can't really describe. The shadows and lighting are too realistic. That is not a bad thing by itself; it's just KH has had this established visual style that was unchanging - even for the low quality DS graphics - yet Nomura and co. decide to make a sudden flip with the series' biggest release yet. Once again, Kingdom Shader and all of the graphical enhancements aren't bad, they just very VERY different from the (as of now) unchanged norm.

Wow it looks so glowie, kinda neat.:D The train battle against the titan looks cool, not so sure how the gameplay will be tho. Very cinematic, it looks good but can kinda give a game play immersion disconnect-- like action commands in some games. I am hoping it will work out.

God damn it looks so pretty. By far the most visually stunning entry in the series to date. Can't wait to get a PS4 in like ten years so I can play it.

I'm happy with what I saw as far as gameplay goes. I was wondering how they were going to pull it off, since I read on the Kingdom Hearts III article that they were going to make it similar to the gameplay in Dream Drop Distance. But, after watching this, I think they have succeeded (or at least started on the path to success). I feel like we have a while to wait, though, but I think it will be worth it.

Does KH 2 fix any of the problems with the first KH?

Heck yes it does! Much faster gameplay, much better camera, better ability system, many more options for combat (especially so if you play Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix)...ahhh yes. KH3 we can definitely expect to be, well, Kingdom Hearts III as far as improvements to the overall core battle system are concerned. ^^
