if you dont know who he is, well to bad im to lazy to explain. anyways ive been walking through the waterfall cave thing for the past 20 min in night and day and saw no of the magic butterflies that tell you a gossip stone is near by, i went onto youtube and stuff and i watched videos about it but i have not been able to find him. do you have to be past a certain point in the game for him to appear, (im up to the sand ship) or is it not in the Australian verson or is my game just broke

Go at night. I entered at daytime and the butterflies weren't there, then I went at night and they were there.

I believe he only appears after you have completed the Sky Loft Silent Realm. I think they set it up that way to prevent people from upgrading items easily.

Now that you said that, I only went there after completing that Silent Realm.

It probably won't appear while enemies are still around. (ooh, a little cryptic, like the game would do)
I found it at the end of the cave (inside) after ending the monster curse, but it could be the Silent Realm thing too. I didn't check until after that either.
