(please have a good reason why your character even showed up to this place)

Another Day in the Grimon Countryside, another day of a luxurious life in the village of Greendale. It was harvest time, as the sun set on the plains, They Came. 3000 of the mightiest Orcs the Obsidian Emperor could muster. As they rode in on Nightmarish Blood Horses armed with Blades and Clubs, the killed all in their path. the women screamed as the men died protecting their livelihood, as the Women and girls were abducted and sent off to the Isle of the Onyx Throne, the Orcs burned the village to the ground, salting the earth and making a pyre of corpses so massive that the smoke could be seen as far north as Malivorn Vale. another village punished for the failure to pay the taxes of the Emperor.

3 weeks later, in the Ruins of Greendale, construction was slow, the only thing left standing was a non-denomined church that was only saved due to it being stone. A Half-Orc walks up to the church. his Blue Skin a staunch difference to the Green and Black of the ones who came before. the Half-Orc finds a seat in one of the pews and prays. the smoke came from here. perhaps it was here he would find destiny and retribution

Vira had spent the last four days on an escort mission, making sure a family of two parents and two kids around age six would make it safely home to their village, Greendale. Upon finally arriving Vira saw a town in ruins with villagers working hard to build it back up. She had seen this before so she was certain it was a raid ordered by the Obsidian Emperor himself. The family she had escorted there were distraught at the sight of their destroyed home and they ran desperately into the village and vanished amongst the ruins, likely to see what shape their home was in. The deal was for them to pay Vira the second half of her reward upon arriving safely at the destination, but Vira decided to let this one slide. These people would need all the money they could get.

Entering the town Vira didn't think it looked like the raid had taken place all too recently. Maybe a month, or at least a few weeks had passed. She remembered clearly what this town used to be like before it was burnt down, so it was very sad to walk through it in this state. After a while she saw the church which seemed to be the only building still intact, so she entered. It was far more quiet inside, but the sound of people and construction work could still be heard faintly. Up ahead Vira could see what looked like a half-orc praying. She took a seat on the row behind the half-orc and decided to pray as well. Hopefully the gods would find it in their hearts to at least help out this village somehow.

Orcs. He hated orcs. They were loud, disgusting, and generally uncouth. Worst of all, they smelled. Unfortunately, the Grimon Countryside seemed to have a bit of an infestation. Scrying the site of one of the more recent attacks, a village known as Greendale, Laeothrin noticed that there was still a building standing. An old, non-denominational church. Curious, he looked and side, finding a couple adventurers seemingly taking shelter. Perhaps he would keep an eye on this situation.

Aearonith saw smoke rising through the trees. She sighed, knowing it was the orcs, again. She quickly leaped off a branch to the forest floor, and began to speed through the forest. With the strength of wolves, she leapt over logs towards the destroyed town. She slowed as she came to the smoke filled, dusty town. She quickly bounded into a house, and flung open cabinets and cupboards. She stashed stale bread, dried meat, and a flask of red wine in her satchel. She repeated through every abandoned home, until she reached the a tall, pointed building, which looked to be a chapel of some sorts. She slowly approached it, but stopped when she heard movement. She peered inside to see people with their heads bowed, uttering words unknown. She sighed, seeing it was only the people of the town, not the orcs. She decided to sit down in one of the pews, and reminisce.

as Ka'Nos lifts his head he sees 3 other people have joined him in the church.

A little girl, barely of age if that. her eyes looked like they have seen so much, as does her muscled physique and her bloodied knuckles. A scholarly elf. Ka'Nos hoped he would have much to add to the conversation and would not just be a satunch observer who didnt share his observations. and Finally there was a Wild Woman, wearing a Fur Pelt of a black Wolf, and a braided chain of the finest silver. There had to be a story about that. also the Wild Woman had a humoungous sack full of stuff. obviously that was for the town and she wasnt stealing from people who had nothing. as Ka'Nos stands he looks around
"The Obsidian Emperor's forces... Something has to be done. but I'm only one man. i cant face the thousands of Orc Brutes and fight my way to the Emperor himself. that would take an Army"

Vira was surprised by the half-orc's sudden words, but she agreed with them.

"Well sir," she started, "you look like a capable man. I'm sure you could gather yourself an army to lead if you just put your mind to it. There's a lot of distrust in the Emperor going around after all."

"Considering the fact that we don't have an army on hand, might I suggest we try a more traditional assassination first? Fighting through hordes of orcs isn't the only way to reach the emperor. As far as I know, the emperor still has to eat. A bit of money and the right poison would solve this problem quite nicely. Of course, we'd need to have an alternative ready. Rather goes against the point if we only cause more chaos."

Aearonith hated the orcs fiercely, and when the stranger spoke, she readily agreed. Standing up, she said, "I will join your party, but only because the orcs are destroying everything in their path, including the forest, my home."

She then looked at Laeothrin. "I have poison," she said, unclipping a small bottle from her belt. It had purplish liquid inside.

Ka'Nos looks at the two elves
"And you're sure you would follow me into battle?" The Half-Orc says to the two Elves

Vira was surprised by how blunt the elven scholar was with his thoughts. His plan relied on espionage and infiltration rather than brute force. An option to consider for sure. And when the wood elf spoke up too and offered to join the half-orc on his mission, Vira felt like she was witnessing the beginnings of a fairy tale, or watching some kind of stage play epic. She smiled lightly and wondered to herself what chance these people stood against the Obsidian Emperor and all his power and influence.

"Well however you three intend on defeating the Obsidian Emperor, I wish you luck. I have a feeling you'll need a lot of it." Her face expression as she spoke conveyed a sense of worry, but she was also sort of smirking, which made her hard to read.

Ka'Nos looked at the three others and nods
"assassination? and how pray tell do you expect to get to his chambers to do such a thing? from what I've heard, the entire Island is a Black Fortress, a labyrinth of iron, obsidian, and fire. and at the top is the Obsidian Emperor. we'd have to fight our way in, unless someone has some rapport"

as Ka'Nos converses, it starts to rain outside. at first a drizzle, but before long it is a hard rain

Laeothrin airily waves a hand. "Every palace requires servants. It would require some time to get an agent in position, to be sure; however recruiting and training a competent army would require just as much, if not more. Another point to be considered is that armies tend to be quite noticeable. What would stop the emperor from simply attacking this army while it was still a barely trained rabble?"

She Looked at the elf, nodding. She did agree with the elf about assassination. “I think he’s right,” she murmured. “The orcs follow their leader, and without him, the army will fall apart.” She then looked at the half orc. “ And how do you think you can get a army big enough to defeat the warlord? Armies don’t just appear out of air.” She said bitterly.

Vira remained seated and crossed her legs. "On first glance assassinations seems like the most safe way to ensure the death of the Emperor," she says and softly bites her bottom lip as she thinks for a few seconds. "I do agree with that. However, just the death of an emperor won't change the big picture very much. I've... heard... tales of previous emperors who were assassinated. Power was passed on directly to their child, or potential other successor. The Obsidian Emperor's armed forces won't vanish simply because their supreme leader dies. They will follow orders from whoever takes over for the late emperor." Vira then stood up and strolled over to Laeothrin, getting quite close to him and glancing up at his face as she continued. "Basically, killing the emperor alone won't change anything. Without an army to match - thought preferably outmatch - the emperor's, whoever inherits his army will be able to take the throne back in the blink of an eye." As she said the last words she winked at Laeothrin from her position right in front of him.

Ka'nos looks at the others
"looking at us, I think vaulting over the walls isn't a problem. its once we're inside that's the problem. the 4 of us could not hope to defeat Thousands of orcs on our own. The Problem is whoever we get to ally themselves to storm this City Fortress will then cause a war over who gets to take the Throne. so whoever we get, there has to be a undisputed leader. what do you think,.... oh how rude of us, we haven't properly introduced ourselves. I am Ka'Nos Blue-Skin from Belhammon" The Half-Orc says as he goes to shake Leo's Hand
