I'm Having Trouble with Hunting with Last Big Poe in Ocarina of Time! Help, Please!!!

As some may notice from my username, I had recently started playing Zelda games in the last couple of years and has yet to finish one. Right now, I'm at Ganon's castle in Zelda: Ocarina of time for Gamecude and considering I'm not the best player in most games like Zelda, I wanted the last bottle just in case I might need it.

Anyway, the problem is, I do believe I caught a Big Poe in the field accidentally let one go. Of course it has been a long time since then so I'm not really sure.

My question(s) is: If I had let it go by accidental, can I capture it again, or is it a lost cause? Also, does it have to be night time to find them? I read somewhere it doesn't have to be, but I still need to ask, just incase.

Please, since I have actually only played two games of Zelda (not that I have beaten yet sadly), I have no idea about this stuff in the games and so I really need information. I''d really appreciate it deeply!!!!

Well it doesn't need to be night time for you to find a big poe (you just need to run past a certain area) and also if you weren't able to catch it then I think you can defeat it again to catch. If you need help finding the one you let go or stratagies to kill 'em then try the zd oot guide. Hope I helped.

Okay. Like Master Kokiri said, you can capture ghosts anytime. Day and Night. To find them, I reccommend you check a guide. If you kill a big poe and didn't take it in your bottle, you can always kill him again. Also, when you have a big poe in one of your bottle, it can't be released. You have to sell it to be able to use the bottle again.

I did consult a guide to try and find the last one (I ran all over Hyrule field over and over again just to be sure), I even went as far as having my brother try and find it, no luck though. I guess there might be something wrong with the game or maybe the last poe just doesn't want to be found

Oh well, thanks for the help anyways. At least now I don't have to wonder if I screwed up somewhere along the line. But again thank you both.
