TPHD-Wii U howling stone problem secret village

Is anyone else having an issue with the howling stone in the secret village? I've tried it over and over and it appears that I'm hitting all the notes, but it just won't activate.

The problem with the howling stones is that you have to time it right. Even the tiniest bit off will cause a stone not to be activated. So watch your timing. Follow the lines if they appear after you failed. And make sure you're precisely on the right line at the right time. One slightest bit off will cause it not to activate. I hope this works.

Thanks. I turned it off for awhile and then got it on the third try. I don't know why, but I've never had that much trouble with a howling stone before.
