Breath of the Wild How screwed would Hyrule actually had been if Link and Zelda really did die in the calamity

Like how bad would things have gotten for Hyrule had Link and Zelda actually had been killed in the Calamity instead of being put in a century of suspended animation? If the hero was killed and the bloodline of Goddess wiped out for good?

To be honest, I don't think much would have changed, Zelda expectically says Ganon's power rises to its peak under the hour of the blood moon. Which literally means she's doing jack squat in containing him throughout the game.

I don't even think the Triforce is referenced hardly at all in Breath of the Wild.

...Okay, but like did Zelda take Malon's place with the whole death thing? Because like, I am a strong believer that Malon died in the Calamity and the Ranch Ruins are all that was left. But like.... does Zelda or Link take Malon's place...? BECAUSE IF SO, IMMA HAVE A PARTY ON THEIR GRAVES!!!!

If they died, I would surmise there would be others who would rise to take their place. I kinda think Skyward Sword really messed things up with The Curse, even though its not certain if the continuity of that curse bleeds into other legends. It should be that if Link and Zelda perished, their shards of the Triforce would be up for grabs for other heroes. Maybe Paya gets Wisdom, and someone else like Sidon gets Courage.

I wish Zelda II lore was more utilized, that the Hero has to earn Courage. Its more poetic and then makes it so that each Link doesn't just automatically get the Triforce of Courage. I would say the same for Wisdom, Zelda is a scholar and it makes sense she got Nayru's Shard, hence why I think Paya is a good candadite, she is a scholar too. While Botw and Totk do not have the Triforce as a focus, Zelda uses it at one point and its clear that have those shards and that Ganon still have The Triforce of Power, even if he doesn't mention it.

Besides I am not sticking solely to Botw and Totk for my response..
