It seems like I forgot to tell my opinion
In general I would go with months
To those thinking about how much time it takes to beat the game I think you are misunderstand me here, forget about that, imagine that each adventure is a real story, how much time do you think it takes, realistically, Link to complete its quest?
Personally I like the idea that it takes some time, for example I am fond of the idea that in A Link to the Past, Link actually has to spend a good time living in the Dark World, in that frightening place which is very different to the world he knows and having a though time; or in the Wind Waker crossing the Great Sea, or maybe having to see the suffering world again and again in Majoras Mask and never begging able to help everyone every time
In general, I like to think that for each Link, the adventure of his life actually took some time and not a couple of days
