Four Swords Hero's Trial on the Map Screen... What is It?

When playing Anniversary Edition, you unlock Hero's Trial during gameplay.

The appearance of Hero's Trial on the map selection screen is not too easy to make out; it looks like a sword plunged into the rocky island. Any other thoughts?
