Are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles considered Koopa Troopas?

Aww come on, if anything they would be considered Hammer Brothers or higher. Standing upright, using weapons, and not so prone to walking right off a ledge into a bottomless pit blindly. They might give Mario a little more trouble than Bowser ever did.

Of course we did get Koopa ninja troopas once before.

Well as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan I say no. Koopa Troopas are Koopa Troopas and I believe that they aren't turtles but turtle like and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are mutated red ear sliders.

Koopas are based on tortoises and the TMNT are mutated turtles.
