Have You Forgotten Heart Containers Before?

So, you beat the big bad guy, leave the dungeon, and then you realise, you've forgotten something. You know that one thing at the end of every dungeon. That health object. The heart container! DO'H!

How often have you forgotten to pick up the heart container at the end of a completed dungeon? Whether it be 5 seconds, 5 minutes or 5 hours afterwards, you realise your health isn't what it should be. Now you gotta backtrack and go get it. The extra unit of health is always worth it, right?

Only once have I forgotten the heart container, during a casual playthrough of Twilight Princess. I've memorised all the TP heart pieces, so when I got the last one, something was wrong. I only had 19 heart units. I couldn't of missed five entire pieces of heart. I went to the fortune teller to see what I'd missed, but nope, apparently I'd gotten them all. So I had no choice but to revisit all the temples. Turned out I forgot to get the heart container in the Temple of Time, after beating Armogohma. I felt stupid.

I'm terribly embarrassed but the first time I played Ocarina of Time, the game which introduced me to the franchise, I forgot to grab the heart container upon beating Gohma Inside the Deku Tree. It's never occurred to me since though which is a relief.

Several instances of this have happened while I was playing The Wind Waker. There was this one time where I was in a rush to defeat Kalle Demos before bedtime. Plus, I didn't have a memory card at the time, so I couldn't save my progress; I had to leave my Gamecube on for several days straight without my mom knowing, or else she'd flip. So anyways, I was in such a rush to defeat it that by the time I had done so, I completely forgot to grab the heart piece... Didn't help that I had already started the Great Fish Island portion before finally heading off to bed...

Haha I've only done this once in Oot because it was my first zelda game and I wanted to see what would happen if I skipped it. When I found out it was the same I went allll the way back to the big bad boss room to get back my Heart Piece.

I forgot one heart container on an odd run of Twilight Princess, but most of the time, I intentionally forgo the glistening vial of youth in favor of the more difficult three heart run. I didn't feel particularly dumb in that run of TP, as I still performed rather decently without it, but the lack of that extra heart on my screen was irksome. :/

I occasionally forget a heart container or two whenever I re-play a Zelda game for fun from the beginning. Other than that, I'm pretty much remember where they all are! :D

Once I forgot to grab the Heart Container after defeating Barinade in Ocarina of Time. I happened to defeat him close to the center of the room, and his remains were on the ground right in front of the portal. I ran forward, intending to pick up the Heart Container as I left, but apparently I walked right past it through Barinade's remains and touched the portal. I remember complaining in futility as I watched the boss room, with the Heart Container still on the floor in it, disappear.

So, it's less of forgetting to get it, and more of missing it...

On my first play through of Twilight Princess, I almost forgot to get the heart container after beating Blizzeta in Snowpeak Ruins. I was talking to Midna, about to warp out, then I realized, "Dude, get the heart." I felt especially stupid as there was a whole cutscene featuring the love between Yeta and Yeto, and I still missed it!

Only the opposite has happened to me. I've collected Heart Containers and Heart Pieces when I don't want to, such as in a 3 heart run, and had to restart and fight a boss again. In a normal playthrough it seems to be physically impossible for me to not go out of my way to collect hearts.

I never have. There have been a couple of times I've headed for the warp point to get out but diverted when I remembered the heart piece but I've never left without it

I've Never forgotten a heart container from a boss battle, but I have in the overworld. Sometimes I'll decide to wait til later to get a heart piece from a mini game or the over world, completely forget about it, and then go through my steps from the beginning of the game to the end, searching the corners of the world looking for what I've lost. That makes me mad.

I think I forgot to get the heart container once, but I don't even remember which game it was.
But in SS after I beat the pirate ship boss, I decided I was going to get the flame first then the heart container. I didn't think I'd be warped back to the beginning after getting the flame, so after I got the flame I had to go all the way back to where the heart container was.
