I just looked at episodes 13 & 1. Ep 1 definitely looks fuzzier.
I am surprised this is/was your very first time seeing it.

The show was my childhood, I used to go to my grandma's house and watch the two or three episodes she had on VHS over and over again and my aunt and I would play Zelda, where she was Zelda and was trapped on her bunk bed or at the bottom of the stairs or wherever, and I was link and needed to rescue her before she fell into the lava. Massive hit with us when we were 3-6 years old. I went through and watched the whole thing where it's available on Youtube a few years ago and it's still so nostalgic for me. Is it the best written, animated, acted, etc? absolutely not, but I love it for its flaws rather than in spite of them.
I actually really want to see it.
