Very much a dude.
If any of you are fans of reptiles*, this is the thread to share your favorites!

For lizards, I prefer common green basilisks, leopard geckos, bearded dragons, blue-tongued skinks, and all monitor lizards.

For turtles, I love red-eared sliders, Hawksbill sea turtles, and box turtles.

And for snakes, I'm the weird one in my family for actually liking snakes. My favorites are ball pythons, and for wild varieties, I like rattlesnakes.

* Please, no tarantulas or scorpions, salamanders, newts, frogs, or toads, because for some reason while pet shops include them alongside reptiles, they aren't reptiles at all.

We respect taxonomic classifications here!

Plus, I'm an arachnophobe.

You would hate the fact that I planned on making a thread about documenting the spider webs I find around my neighborhood.

My sister has a corn snake, we named him Mr. Snakey, but other than that, I'll have to think of my favorites. There's so many varieties of reptiles. After all, I believe I believe they've been on this earth longer than mammals have. I could be wrong about that.

Depends on what we're defining as mammal.

If we mean mammal as we commonly believe, then yes, reptiles have been on this planet longer, as mammals are relatively recent.

But if we mean the common ancestors of all mammals being synapsids, then no, as synapsids and diapsids (phylogenetic term for reptiles) have been around as long as each other have.
