When Wind Waker first came out, it got a lot of hate. But over time it's charm and magic have proven it to be a valuable edition to the series. For me, it's one of those games I can go back to time after time and still enjoy it just as much as the first time.

For those of you who played the game, what are your favorite moments?

Here's a few of our favorite parts :)

Ten years + with Wind Waker and I'm still not bored of it. Its not only my favourite Zelda game, but my favourite video game of all time. I own a WiiU only for Wind Waker HD and even though I'm excited for Zelda U, i really don't think its gonna top Wind Waker in any department.

I love every thing about this game, its so hard to choose just one moment so here's a list.

3. Raising the Tower of the Gods.
-This moment was impressive. Link pulling the Master Sword in Ocarina of Time, to many people, is Zelda's defining moment. But i think raising the Tower of the Gods is just as impressive and entertaining and its definitely a series defining moment, at least for me. The first time I played through the Wind Waker back in the GC days, i wasn't wholly sure what was going to happen after i'd delivered each pearl, but it didn't disappoint. It was an awesome moment. As was ringing the bell at the top.

2. The ending
-Oh god this ending. Its so odd for a Zelda game to end on a downer (even though there is hope). I can't get over King Hyrule's sacrifice, I can't get over his selfless act of sewing the seeds of the future, I can't get over the hope he wishes for the people who have to live with the ramifications of the mistakes of the past... Its all just so powerful and it gets me every time. Plus, seeing the King of Red Lions with its dull eyes and lifeless form at the end when Link and Tetra sail from Outset... its just so depressing, that boat will forever be a reminder of King Hyrule's sacrifice...

1. Sailing
-I guess this isn't really a moment, but this is what makes the Wind Waker what it is. People hate the sailing aspect of Wind Waker but to me its what makes it. I love sailing, i love approaching the islands from a distance and having that sense of discovery each and every time. I love the world that passes by, i love the endless sky and waves i love the storms and the night-lit waters. Its just a wonderful world to explore and sailing is such a fun and exciting way to explore it. Every moment I spend isn't one that's wasted.

Favorite moments...
I'd have to say when you see Link get fired out of the cannon from Tetra's ship. The whole thing with his face and the pirates reactions... Ahhh, good times, good times.

@Spirit I could not agree harder with you. So much love for WW.

The Tower of the Gods was such an epic culmination to the journey and it did not disappoint. Seeing it rise up out of the water was so jaw-dropping awesome, then and now. And the ending is still one of the most powerful endings in any game ever. The sacrifice is touching, and the fact that he did it all to give the next genration hope for the future is definitely bitter sweet. It's hard not to tear up when you see it.

And we both absolutely agree with you that sailing is awesome. The freedom it gives you is just unlike anything else, and seeing those islands grow in the distance is all kinds of awesome.

@Curmudgeon XD You can never go wrong with face stabbing!

@Kyru The humor in Wind Waker is one of the best moments. All the games have funny moments, but the facial expressions on Toon Link (and all the other characters) just ramp it up like a thousand percent. That scene is the perfect example of it.

@Dan Same here! lol Things have been pretty crazy for us but there is going to be much more commenting and video sharing and general being around now! :)

Rescuing you slightly annoying little sister from the giant angry bird. Plays to an older brother's instincts, and I love the challenge of racing up the tower and the boss fight against the Helmaroc King.

My favorite moment in The Wind Waker is the ending when the King of Hyrule goes down with his kingdom. I'd always wanted to see the King of Hyrule, and Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule certainly delivered. The triumph over Ganondorf was bittersweet as a sort of father figure stayed behind in the abyss sowing the seeds of the future.

How about the moment where you catch Lenzo and Minenco by surprise and snap a photo to capture their secret romance? Or just generally listening to Minenco ramble on about her flawless skin and how beautiful she is? lol.

@ihateghirahim Totally! Definitely hits the older brother obligation dead on. And the fight was so satisfying!

@alinkintime He was like a father figure to Link throughout the journey. Bittersweet is really the best way to describe it.

@the8thark XD Love game. KABOOOOM!

@Emmanuel That's a good one! Interacting with all of the different people in the game is always so interesting and rewarding.

To me the game never gets boring. What I love the most are Links facial expressions. It's hilarious!
Most epical moments: when he gets the Master sword and the giant statues drop their swords down.
The final battle when Daphnes Nohansen touches the Triforce and made a wish before Ganondorf was able to do so. Plus the ending when the King waves goodbye while Link is desperate to grab his hand.
