General Zelda Dungeon Map And Compass

So like a lesser form of that one island in Phantom Hourglass? I wouldn't mind that for one dungeon as one of its core mechanics, but I don't think I'd like to see it be a recurring thing.

No no no that would not work at all for the whole game. I'm not sure how to explain it but I will try.

The maps rooms are light up the moment you walk into a room, right. What is the map was made based on where walked. So if I went into a large room and just ran to the next door, the map would only lshow the part walked over. So in order to fully complete the map you have to explore.

I'm terrible at explaining this... try this visual.

Link= yellow triangle. Green= part of the map you can see
See how the room is grey when you walk in. In order to draw the map you have to walk around and explore. As you can see in the 2nd picture Link has explored part of the room, so the map in drawn based on where he was been
